  1. God I hope we aren't in for 6 months of this. Faaar to early! A good showery cold March/ April with plenty of convective weather would make up for it. I can see why folk ooop North are making a bit of a drama out of this spell but it's nought unusual this here in the capital and the south east.
  2. Yes indeed. Looks like some much more unsettled weather on way later in week. Hopefully the high to our se that ruined any chances of a decent end to winter will finally do one! Couple of wet damp weeks would do no harm now.
  3. Groundhog day again. Sunny, warmish, dry. 17c. Boring weather for February. Signs we may get some more interesting weather by next weekend.
  4. Maybe the person who does the updates has now been sacked for gross incompetence.
  5. Groundhog day again. Sunny, warmish. Dry. Boring weather for February.
  6. 11.5c just now. Just about right to get some allotment work done. Another day leave off work. Met going for pretty average day temperature wise. There is alot of non sensical euphoria on the other thread about this 'heat'. Nonsense. Hopefully get some decent rain soon.
  7. Parts of Ireland the warmest places in most of Europe and North Africa just now. Bonkers!
  8. Just the one? You must have had a huge one with all that heat?
  9. Is that the great sleet storm of January 31st just gone? Oh the chaos. In fairness, even in the tropics of SW London I was unable to get my motor out of the side road for the first week in February 2009.Got 2/3 foot drifts then.
  10. Well winter's life support has finally been switched off.
  11. Ooops, sorry, I appear to have stumbled into the MAD thread by accident .
  12. True. The Met Office are going for highs of 13/14c in the capital over Friday and Saturday. Nought special. Just the usual tedium weatherwise. 8c just now. Sunny.
  13. I think another reason for their chessy inane grins is that they are reasonably able to predict the weather fairly correctly in these boring set ups. The lady on SE weather was very excited earlier. Zzzzzzzz.
  14. Yup, very thick ice on car windscreen earlier, quite surprising for a 'mild spell'. Temp was only 1.2c at 7am. Going up to 12c later, apparently.
  15. Probably been deleted mate. Just like my mock 16-30 day Met Outlook earlier today. Humour will not be tolerated forthwith.
  16. Nice drop of much needed rain today. Probably not enough but better than nothing. 9.4c just now. Average late February weather.
  17. Quite large temperature differences across SE just now. 11.2c here in SW London.
  18. We got ten days to get to Aldi and stock up... again. I'm still trying to get through the last lot I bought in January. Whenever I see the letters SSW I'm straight into panic mode and stripping the shelves.
  19. When you look at these current European temperatures it just goes to show you how out they were. They can't even say the forecasted very cold weather just missed us!!
  20. They are 'smelling the coffee' again in the Cold Thread and I think that they may be about to call the hunt ON again. The excitement is unbearable.......
  21. Does anyone watch TV forecasts anymore what with all the information that's available at your fingertips? I watch the BBC extended forecasts very occasionally if I fancy a giggle though. ?
  22. You beat me to it mate. I was just reading through those old forecasts from last month. I was about to say that only this day last week they were predicting possible snow showers for Eastern England today ish. Now I know its not an exact science but come on!!!!
