  1. Looks troposphere-lead to me, and early May is not looking too great either with more opportunities for northern blocking.
  2. My thoughts too. Let it warm up another degree or two and then pause it after that, don't reverse. Can't even begin to imagine a Spring a couple of degrees below the 61-90 average.
  3. Finally a dry day with average temperatures. Even such low standards have been almost impossible to meet most of this extended winter.
  4. Sunday peak temps showing 17C yesterday, 7C today.
  5. Never wishing for a February SSW ever again. They are Spring killers. So depressing seeing nailed on high teens low twenties gradually chipped away into a North Sea cool drizzlefest. Failed warm spells really hit worse in Spring, back to winter we go.
  6. Late April it should be approaching 14-15C. A couple of degrees above average and some sun for a week or so is not asking for much.
  7. Not sure about that. Need to get into late June really to not have to worry about North Sea sourced air. Some of the afternoon charts are looking horrific after high teens and a couple of low twenties were looking nailed on. Robbed again by this Spring from hell.
  8. Not much wind here, so even though it's only 11C it feels nice in sunshine. Finally managed to give the grass a much needed cut.
  9. I don't mind a cold March. Time flies with snow and before you know it, it's April and then high pressure over the UK starts bringing some warmth. Can't stand cold Aprils though.
  10. There is a small disturbance in the flow on Tuesday coming from the NW. Hoping for something like the day after Arwen. Tiny feature but produced a good 5cm. Models not making much of any moisture from it at the moment though.
  11. Quick thaw this morning after a small top up. Not one for the history books but at least it was something.
  12. Crazy that's only 5 miles up from here and it was all rain when it passed. Boundary must be edging south.
  13. This next band of rain would have been 2 inches of snow an hour. 50 mile shift in low track would have made this an event to remember, what a waste.
  14. Winds starting to back Northeasterly on West coast of Wales now, thought it would be too early for England though.
  15. We had to drive back from Burton to Liverpool that night. I remember it caught the pros out and weather apps were showing 3C and rain while it was heavy snow outside.
  16. Back edge of Arwen was just a patchy 1-2cm for me. It was another front the next day that I got a good cover.
  17. Yes I'm never a fan of these wrap around back edge snow events. Boxing day 2014 is the only one I remember that actually delivered a decent event.
  18. Met office app now going for all snow from 7pm but really not seeing it. UKV must be on a mad one I'm guessing.. Based on uppers I'm going for 11pm tbh.
  19. Pivot only just starting now over West Ireland so a lot of time to get through for the snow to survive. Hoping for dry and cloudy tbh at least until sunset. My patch at 90 metres snow still healthy on grass, cleared off roads and most pavements now, little hill at 120m still ok on pavements too, city center at 50m almost nothing. I have seen slight differences in snow before at such little elevation differences but it's never been this defined.
  20. In the town now and wow it's crazy the difference even 50 metres is making this event, barely anything here.
  21. Alternating between sleet and snow now, though in the light patch at the moment. Hopefully the heavy stuff is snow. Need to keep the sun away until sunset for the grass snow to survive I think!
