  1. ECM also picks up the Greenland low just starting to form at t168? Again messy to the North of the UK, could it do a a GFS and build a Greenland ridge over that Greenland low?
  2. Actually backs the crazy GFS run too starting to develop the Greenland low at 168.
  3. 2nd dartboard low being killed in the Atlantic too One of the most ridiculous runs I've ever seen.
  4. Looks like it's undercutting the UK. Obviously at this stage we are already 3+ days into fantasy land but great to see compared to the rubbish we were served up with this morning. What a rollercoaster this is.
  5. It's been developed at t174 again Possible signs of a weak ridge building to our North? Reminds me of Jan 2013. So messy, but UK continues to be in -5 or below uppers
  6. Positives compared to 06z: North Russian high much smaller at t144 The low over us a bit more southeast
  7. Southeast Euro heights killing us. Only hope as we get closer the models start to pick up negative tilting on the lows otherwise we are confined to a 5 day cold spell. Good of course, but could have been so much more.
  8. This run is awful, big East Euro high building that has completely cut the link between Scandi Lows and Asian lobe of vortex. Hopefully pub run on a mad one.
  9. Big improvement today, how many times have we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, good to see it go the other way for once (at the moment).
  10. Yes, the wishbone effect only actually comes to reality with northerly topplers, we are very close to low pressure in the coming scenario, much more likely to have mini disturbances and troughs that models are not capable of picking up at this range.
  11. Great to see both GFS and UKMO reconnect the scandi troughs to the main Siberian lobe. Would hope that would help longevity if the cold spell, including more than enough pressure to send the Atlantic low south.
  12. Yes looks like a cat 5 hurricane nearly making it as far North as France. Not realistic imo.
  13. Thanks for saying it first because I was scared of saying the problem with the ECM is that if anything the Greenland High seems to be too strong, particularly towards the north Scandi area.
  14. It's really difficult to understand what's going on. Let's hope this is the start of a trend away from an early Greenland High/Euro High link.
  15. Big difference between 12z ECM and 18z GFS, we do not want to see the Greenland High extending into Svalbard area and linking up with the bane of our existence the East Euro high, GFS manages to keep that link broken so we continue to get lows tracking south.
  16. Would hope so, miles worse than GEM and GFS in terms of central Europe pressure. At least GFS and GEM have low pressure there, ECM has spawned a massive east euro high out of nowhere. Funny how things have changed since early afternoon. GEM was the worst, now after this rubbish-show, it's actually by far the best of the 12z...
  17. Vortex destroyed on our side of the North Pole. The reward for this is two storms headed for the UK anyway. Sick joke.
  18. Yes, clear trend shown with each of the big three this afternoon. At this rate Icelanders must be getting nervous about being too far south.
  19. Me too, it's a bit of shame to be honest, well let's hope ECM is a bit better but that was trending west too West based NAO it is then. Will need a lot of luck to turn this into something more than a 4-5 day cold spell.
  20. ECM wasn't too far away from being a very good run. Deep FI there may be a bias to inflate Atlantic lows, more of an undercut and it would be locked in cold again.
  21. Greenland High actually getting reinforcements from Canada! Has the Atlantic ever been more dead than this.
  22. Looks west based but absolutely no problem if the Iberian Low goes where it has on this run. Big chunk of that Siberian energy sent down to us before the Greenland High tilt and it's looking good.
  23. Really hoping cluster 4 verifies. We want as many lows from the Siberian lobe spilling down to us as possible before the Greenland High tilts into Scandi and cuts off the supply.
