Well the low pressure might be East of the models, but the rain isn't. Looks like the band is heading to Northwest England and Wales, needs to start tilting SE.
Weather presenters on TV and the Met Office don't want to know. Mostly rain,.with the odd bit of sleet on low ground. Not much middle ground between them and the models which show accumulating snow for most.
Watched ITV weather right now and it has the entire region under wall to wall sunshine. Very odd, all they needed to do was take a glance at the satellite pictures. Story of the year, high pressure never delivering sun.
Another perfect one 28C and clear. Decent breeze today so doesn't feel too hot at all. Also interestingly skin has gone a bit red. It's very rare for this to happen to me in this country, sometimes it happens on the first sunny spell of the year after a poor spring, so this just goes to show how disgraceful the summer has been that I've built zero tolerance to sunburn through the summer.
Doesn't help that most of us never had a summer except for maybe a combined 15 days out of 90 in early June and early July. Though personally I don't like in-between months of September and October with no man's land temperatures of 14C, so any year I would like summer to continue until November and then winter to start the very next day.
Finally for the first time in a very long time, there is not a cloud in the sky. 27C, gentle breeze, sunny and clear deep blue skies. For the first time this year we have the perfect day.
Understandable but it does get a bit annoying when the people who get their preferred weather type of unusable trash for 350 days out of 365 won't show a bit of grace and humility in the 15 days they don't.
Story of the summer or even year cloud just refuses to eff off for just 1 day. The dullest year I can remember and it's happened in the 1 year we could have done without.
Have not kept up with the weather for weeks now due to every day being the same cool cloudfest, but very nice surprise to see a 3 day mini heatwave on the way. Finally some summer weather for the first time in two months.
Drizzle. Don't know how the UK manages it but even with high pressure centered over the country just a couple hundred miles to my Northwest we manage unsettled weather. The UK is without doubt the most pathetic country in the world for seasonal weather.
Well breakdown day is turning out to be a much better day than last day of summer yesterday. 21C, sunny spells and no sign of that intense band of rain that was showing on all the forecasts yesterday.
Briefly hit 29C before closing over again. Don't know how it happened but this UK high has managed to get moisture from somewhere and the high humidity has lead to too much cloud by most afternoons.
Why is the North Midlands a magnet for sea mist, so much so that to our East where the actual coast is there isn't any sea mist but it's somehow over a landlocked region.
Except 2020 (almost the entire month of May), 2019 and 2018. (can't remember back far enough for pre 2018), but you get the point, it is absolutely not normal to have just 10 or so usable days out of 90 in late spring and summer.
Well my "can I sit outside in the garden without getting drenched or get hypothermia" test has seen almost every day of May and summer fail so far except for a few days in the first half of June and this past week. And the bolded part is an outright lie.
