  1. To be fair if you're going to miss out on a snow event this week, today is the best day to do it.
  2. That looks more like an extension of the front that affected the Southeast today? I think that will move South and showers that haven't formed yet will start to form just off the East coast later tonight then come inland.
  3. I am right on that line and would get excited if I hadnt seen the high res charts. The area over that line actually has the least snow according to the high res models. Either side is where the big accumulations are.
  4. Ugh big gap in North Midlands and Met Office app for my area has become awful again. Don't like where this is going
  5. Another met office app upgrade, starts at 12am tonight instead of 8am and now 40 hours of snow until Tuesday evening. Even half of that would be special.
  6. Humber streamer now failing too. Whatever is coming tonight, it's not going to be from this batch of showers, something new has to start.
  7. Probably too close to the front to get anything substantial going from the Wash. Need that front to move into Europe.
  8. A couple of flakes blowing about in the wind at the moment.
  9. Is that accurate though? Why would there not be showers behind it in the North Sea?
  10. Haha reverse psychology worked, a minute after this sent it has turned to snow,
  11. Day 1 of "beast from the east" 100% rain, 0/10
  12. The infamous mountains of Nottingham(?!) swallowing up all the precipitation? What is going on there.
  13. If you hit the jackpot with a streamer it's more lake effect snow than showers. It's what can cause hours or even days of persistent light-moderate snow.
  14. I thought the 2018 one was ridiculous... What is the point of that
  15. UKV is terrible. Always looks like every front it shows has been decaying for 100 hours. Always massively underestimates rain/snow totals.
  16. Good job Saturday night looks good, because Mer Office not seeing anything else happening for most of the Midlands.
  17. The 1pm BBC news forecast, big band of slow moving snow over the Midlands.
  18. The BBC forecast looks unreal for Sunday. 96 hours away, a lot can change though.
  19. Southward push would hopefully mean better chances for long term cold too.
  20. That heavier band getting closer, light snow has started.
  21. Big blow to the MOs reputation this. There was absolutely no need to forecast widespread 2-3 inches of snow for something so uncertain. Yes they corrected it but the first warning should never have been published. Is it just me who thinks the MO peaked at around 2018, but they've been getting worse and worse since? Some absolutely shocking mid range forecasts the last few winters.
  22. Will met office have to remove or at least hugely reduce the area of their warning map? They seemed very confident of accumulations, didn't even mention 1-2cm, went straight for 3-7cm.
  23. Would trust Met Office written forecast with snow totals tbh. Just about whether we can get the front this far north.
  24. I try to avoid the MAD thread, though I find it better to read these days without Murr. Hated that he would always get his wish for lows like tomorrow correcting South last minute. Tbf since he left it's been northern corrections, long may it continue.
  25. Yes it was only really in the last 24 hours that the northern corrections happened last weekend. Yes I'm clutching lol.
