  1. Well that's it here. Got about 1-2cm, but frustrating to be so close to a lot more 2 days in a row now. Stoke definitely the sweet spot this week.
  2. Same I swear I'm the only one below 100M on this forum.
  3. Here we go decent light snow now. Hopefully no problems settling as grass is frozen. Can't believe Met O thought this would be rain.
  4. Met office app having none of it though, going for an all rain event. But the app also said it would hit 3C today, the reality is 1C even without snow cover, and starting to clear now just in time for sunset.
  5. Updated to 12z now, looks like another slight Eastward shift.
  6. True, and speaking of more chances, potential round 2 tonight into tomorrow morning. This one looks a bit more marginal for the east of the region as North Sea will mix some milder air in. Again West of the region looking better. Hoping my extra 50M of elevation compared to the center of Burton may help here. Noticed it today, dusting here, nothing settled in the town.
  7. Just a bit too far East here, so only got an hour of light snow with temporary scattered dusting. Knew it would be much further east than modelled, but my area was always unlikely. I've noticed Met Office have a warning for snow on Wednesday, despite their own weather app showing sunny spells for Wednesday and Thursday.
  8. The average is 8 days of lying snow for most inland parts of the country. I make it about 5-10/56 for most low lying places, if they're lucky, in the last 7 years.
  9. Not saying anything will happen, but we are definitely due one given the krap we have had to endure the last 7 years except for 5 days at the end of February 2018. I thought the early 00s were bad, the 2013-2020 run surely had to be up there as one of the worst winter cluster since the last interglacial over 100,000 years ago.
  10. Not sure why the front is decaying so much given the strength of the low.
  11. Whatever happens we are heading for some very strange and for the UK a very rare weather pattern. Don't remember ever having what looks like 10 days of a bit cooler than average temperatutes. Almost like we are generating and self-sustaining our own homegrown cold pool, after the initial injection of cold from this weekend's storm.
  12. They're the things stopping any cold moving down to Scandi and the UK. It's done its job, but needs to frick off asap, otherwise potential for weeks of northern blocking, but no real cold and we end up with 3C and rain. This is the end result of a week of these "stonking charts"
  13. Surely it will be the first to call anything given it goes out to 384. As for evidence, UKMO consistently verifies better than GFS.
  14. This is the first time I have really noticed the Global Warning affect on our weather. Even 20 years ago, not a chance that such a chart would only bring -3/-4 uppers for most. This would be -5 everywhere with -10 into Scotland.
  15. A lot of the cold would be in the Atlantic, but a lot of the ppn would be over the UK. When it's a low pressure diving from the Arctic you have a big area where uppers are still cold enough.
  16. Clear sky for most of the day and a high of 23C. Cloud has just started moving in now and with that it's the end of summer.
  17. Looks like we will squeeze out one last warm day. Maybe clouding over in the afternoon, but on the flip side it should start sunny.
  18. Yesterday was a write off never got above 16C. Much better today at 19C, while nowhere near the highs of Tuesday it's still very comfortable.
  19. Another perfect day, 1 degree warmer than yesterday at 27C.
  20. Lovely 26C and doesn't even feel that hot with the low humidity and weaker sun.
  21. Best weather in over a month here. Sunny all day, peaked at 24C. Perfect.
