I wrote a post and then lost it .....
amyway .....looking better for coldies post Xmas ......
The problem is it's always a long time and eventually it will be Early January then middle of January and so on
Perhaps hopes of a somewhat chilly Xmas? If anything I take a dry one if else

850s aside it is a better run profile wise esp on Atlantic set up
It's definitely unfortunate that sadly we still have this lack of cold problem

ECM 216 could be a cracker if the two lows don't merge.
Sounds Like Dragon Ball Z

Might be a big ask? But who knows.. It is 2020.
Who knows? At least it's not as bad as the "horror" charts that sacred some folk off yesterday
All for interesting model viewing regardless of perspective

It is that period when contributors on weather forums across the net start having perpetual orgasms over the GFS forecasts, and when people (usually living in the north of England/Scotland) falsely claim the south of England grinds to a halt from an inch of snow.
Now that you say that I do remember somewhat
Also includes getting excited over two week wintery charts and includes denial and a hangover the next day
Hence you don't see some members here when it's no the output they want

I think what would be good to hear is some updates from a couple of the big hitters who were around start of this week when things at the time were looking more positive for coldies
( invisible wall for anyone?) – be great hearing if they still think we are in the game and if not what has changed as the week progressed to introduce what the models are currently suggesting.
I would absolutely love to hear from then as well
I absolutely have to agree with you as when there's cold charts over 10 days away you don't stop hearing from them but where's charts like this they are silent the last two days
It's misleading to some users too
That invisible wall must of transformed into a steaming train across the ocean if anything

We must be getting a bit desperate if we just want to see the 0c mark!
Getting a bit odd that we continue to have that things will get more "interesting" in about two weeks and this is said over and over again to never happen
Unfortunately the GFS hasn't really improved from a cold point of view and I don't think the UKMO is either
Have to see what the ECM comes up with tonight

0z run ... oh deary deary me, yet another warm tumble dryer run! Withdraw any bets for a white xmas - too risky!!!!
You would have a better chance of winning the lottery
I did post a comment in that thread this morning regarding the models but strangely it disappeared like the hangover runs with cold overnight
Good to see you back @knocker would be great to see some balanced commentary

The ECM at t+168 does!
This must deliver surely.
Sorry but I'm not convinced yet as for one we still have the Azores high to make do and that's not including any European high pressure
If there's not cross model agreement then I would keep my expectations low
I'm not saying it will not happen but as seen many many times in the past few years we have seen this roller coaster and only to get Unlucky in the end

I'm not exactly keeping my hopes up regarding all this cold potential
We need to get rid of the southern European high pressure especially!

Already better Heighths at 90 hrs pushing from scan to greenland on the 12z.just south of svalbard
There's no difference?

First the GFS was the bad model now the ECM is the Grinch
It seems we are flip flopping at the moment and all of a sudden the UKMO is king though it doesn't quite make it this time around
At least we have then pub run to go

This could become a concern if this was to happen
Hopefully closer to the time we will be able to see less high pressure around Europe though of course there's a lot to go though yet
