A mix bag if a day. Lovely and sunny first thing, and a little chilly ( apparently we went down to 4 degrees last night) , then it clouded over.. But curious looking clouds which the horse and I stopped to admire on our ride out)- they did seem to show alot of instability... Then the breeze picked up but nothing really of significance.. A little bit of rain and the winds continued all afternoon. Not sure though what's in store tonight.. Would be interesting to know if those temps will drop again. 4 degrees is quite low isn't it for September?

Stuck out on middle of a field the sky looked ever so threatening all day..a little drissle and a few stronger spots when it looked evil above. North of us looked like it was getting a kicking.. We got off lightly thank goodness... But really where were the downpours ... Was it north of reading way? Anyone? ... -

Thanks GTLTW you star. Oh well wellies it is ... Think we may have more rain then by what you say than Newton poppleford which is real apparently. I want to go there.. Love the name. My friend is eventing today so am helping her. Wet ground as long as it doesn't get churned up is a good thing and ill just have to be prepared with the waterproofs... Although I only have winter ones so I could roast... Have a good day now.. No problem at all. It is a great name. No problem at all. It is a great name. -

Pardon me for asking William but is Newton poppleford a real place? It sounds so very Miss Marple.. Very charming if you aren't pulling our leg and its moderate rain does exist. -

OK y'all now come on - Are we in for a lot of rain tomorrow morning? I am thinking Reading area as I will stuck in a field in the morning and I dont particularly fancy being drenched....no Not Reading Festival before you all ask.. on that subject looking out of the office window just now I think they are all due for a wee shower in about 5 mins...I can see the rain stream approach.. -
Perfect night to see them... Shame I can't keep my eyes open. So sleepy....

Lovely sun here with a few clouds in Newbury and seems to be set that way for the rest of the day.. Does anyone know if those storms were over Gatcombe horse trials over last half hour or so.. On the live results page seems a few had withdrawn on one section making me think it wasn't the best conditions to do the Xc phase... -
Which blitzortung app you got? Mine doesn't have alarm settings?.... Radar tells me though a band is creeping up to Newbury.. Haven't heard any rumbles so it may just be a shower. Don't forget those raincoats peeps when you go to work. My friend has been caught out doing her horses in Wokingham this morn... Shorts n tee shirts n caught in a hefty shower ... Oh dear I did warn!

One bit of thunder one bit of lightning.. And torrential rain... I think my landlord is really going to regret not fixing the leak today... Alot worse and drips steaming through three areas. The wall and ceiling is saturated. Yes the sky looked amazing ... A bright orange when it heaved down... Yes that 12 mm is in my living room! I should measure what is in the bucket!! Lol
