  1. Looking at the radar,. splitting doesn't look right at the moment,. Seems to be development on the west side, how far West that will develop is another question
  2. for those of us left in storm limbo,. at least it's supposed to be moving towards us earlier in the night.. rather than 4-5am .. hoping for a good nights sleep!
  3. Perhaps i'll try a 3 camera set up tonight ... It's just impossible to know whether or not i'll capture anything. ~ I saw the flashes from the lightning a 100 miles away when the storm erupted in Plymouth.. so that kinda give me a little ,., as long as i'm with in 70miles I should be able to see something
  4. precipitation looks severe in part of the weak cell. Also interesting to look at charts over the last hour and see new cells growing and others dying,. just not quite hitting the mark for potent thundery weather., Lets hope as the day develops our potential increases.
  5. For those who are interested, here is my video of last nights Storm in S Wales ~~ There is also another link taken from the live web cam ,., both videos have their issues,. The main camera couldn't focus due to a lack of lit objects to focus onto.. the Web cam on the other hand while remaining in focus has less FPS and also it was in part the wrong side of the lightning.... needless to say if you can trundle through the last hour of recording you will see some very nice bolts
  6. my live stream is up South Wales Valleys Blackwood https://www.youtube.com/user/ExtremeWeatherUK/live
  7. Yes me too and i'm further North and East of you,. by about 40 miles!! iv'e never seen this either.. but then I don't ever remember a storm which produced so much lightning.. at least not since the 1999-2002 .. when 2 storms Swept North over Wales .. making day turn dusk at 11am!
  8. in SE wales valleys,. i'm currently only seeing 1 or 2 flickers from that storm every odd minute,. hoping it gets a little closer .. still amazing the distance we can see the emitted light from strikes
  9. Flickers of lightning shining into the sky.. can be seen in the SE Wales valleys around 13 miles North of Cardiff just under a 100 miles from the cell !
  10. It's intensifying! There just a few minutes ago it was looking about 4-5 flashes a minute,. 20 is a lot !
  11. would be inclined to say the storm half way to UK is producing about 4-5 strikes a minute currently .
  12. Well I don't know anything about fishing at night ,., but I hope he's doing well! ~ Just noticing another strike NE of the *now* main cell< which has grown so big!!
  13. hopefully it's just catching its breath before violently violating the ocean
  14. Is there anyone over Plymouth or Torquay who can see these thunderstorms ?
  15. Still watching this camera ! ~ East of the Cell,. I can see rapid tower growth !! Expecting this to form soon!
  16. Well just in case there is a storm, I am now live ~ this stream is experimental,. ~ I will attach a good microphone if I need to ! https://www.youtube.com/user/ExtremeWeatherUK/live
  17. if there's anything happening here in S Wales,. i'll live stream it on twitch or another reliable streaming network
  18. According to these warnings South Wales may not get a thing of this Low overnight ... Though I would only take this with a pinch of salt,. as have experienced storms develop over night!! ~ Then Sunday - Monday Wales is just about in it... but I have very rarely seen Storms come in from SE England to Wales... 2/10 of the time ... (Tries to remain positive) < PS I just want a good lightning show!
  19. Talking about thundery lows,. I remember the hottest day of the year,., well not that particular day but me and my Nan went to Weston,. there were these little tiny clouds over the ocean giving off lightning, I had never seen anything like it in my life ! ... I get hopeful when I see lightning over the ocean,. often think there is far more potential when it hits land!
  20. We have a lot of focus on Saturday,. and for the primary event pushing up through Friday night into Saturday afternoon,. The bigger question,. what's likely to happen before that? ~ Past experience has shown me that some of the pre-main events can be the most intense. Home grown storms? I'm speaking about Friday Afternoon- early evening,. isolated cells may'be. Also as the Low pushes North will there be Thundery showers left in the South Saturday afternoon and evening.. indeed Sunday too,. If we check out Blitzortung we can already see a wide area of thundery weather 150 ish Miles of Ireland and Cornwall,. GFS shows our high pressure moving East.. Depending on the very slight "low" attached to that we could may'be see a couple of cells hitting cornwall and Pembrokshire ? It's going to be an interesting day tomorrow
