There seems to be a torrential shower just off the Islands that the tip of cornwall faces ~ I'd imagine (though not entirely accurately) that that's where the Sferics are coming from

Is this suggesting that once the cloud/storms make landfall over Devon and Cornwall they will intensify as they Push NE.. but storms coming in off the sea towards SE England will also develop but making it less likely for the SE to see severe storms ?

All I need is One small Thunderstorm from SE Wales.. to add to my collection, that'll be my summer storm for 2015 ! But by no means will I rely on it, I know from vast experience, that ex-hurricanes often bring a lot of thundery weather in August-October.. and between December and March there is often thundery downpours with hailstorms, which can be very very impressive! Iv'e heard of reports of mini tornadoes hitting in such month.. But anyway, here's hoping that tomorrow is the day for a little or big storm ~ Cameras are ready waiting service!

Intensifying rain over South Wales.. to wind me up -.-

Sounds like the storm that hit south Wales(+North Wales) through the night in .. around 99-2001.. not exactly sure. on and off it lasted for around 8-11 hours I remember seeing incredible spider lightning.When morning came.. around 11am the sky went dark and quiet, almost like an eclipse and the birds were seemingly settling down.. .. then it thundered and poured torrential rain one last time ... ~ and iv'e never seen a storm that intense since..~ I think you guys up North are getting it though!

Storms popping all over France.. to the South West.. Even near Brest again, the far West storm seems to be tracking NW while the others track NE-E

I'm keeping my eye on those SW Wales storms to! ~ Think a few are starting to make progress towards the SE Valleys!.. but I don't expect much from them.. .then I don't know what to expect haha

wind is picking up a lot in the Welsh Valleys ~ Breeze, trees blowing.. rubbish rustling Thunderstorm has just developed over Swindon.. within 20 minutes ago there was nothing no sign of any development.

I'm very certain that lightning detectors don't pick up all sferics.. Experience, we can have a couple of dozen flashed but the lightning maps pick up may'be 6-7 of them

Was going to say.. England is going bang!!! Storm just South of Reading.. and another North of Brighton come alive within 5 mins of each other ! Another downpour with similar intensity to those storms.. but not producing anything on the lightning map nr Portsmouth

Yes, it's Sat 24 iv'e been following them from.. ~ I suppose it has the potential to become as intense.. and be 50-75miles further west then than the Brest storms that came to IOW earlier.. simply because it looks like a far bigger storm diameter

Those Sferics have fired up fast West of Brest ... and the Bay of Biscay is still on it's way haha The way those cloud formations are developing.. I won't be surprised if those Sferics W-Brest will be in a similar sort of size area to the storm moving NNE Bay of Biscay

There's a center of one torrential downpour just about to hit wells ~ expecting Blitzortung to pick up some lightning from it tbh then do something over Bristol.. probably fizzle out knowing Bristol. Clouds have fired up all over Devon and Somerset.. potential home grown storms to come from them.. lots of fairly quick developments.

In the night in the South East Welsh valleys .. I can see lightning to my East as Far as Gloucester in some storms
