  1. Net Weather is about to launch it's own TV channel? :w00t:
  2. It's rare for you to be downbeat about a cold spell AJ! It's even rarer that Leicester should see more snow than your location during it!! Granted it was only a 0.5c dusting this morning but the whole road, pavements and rooftops were white before it started melting about 11am.
  3. It's an actual miracle, there is a dusting of snow on the ground in Leicester
  4. Not seen one flake in 3 days? Lucky. I haven't seen a flake for about 11 months.
  5. Brilliant, I need those tissues and lemsip right now, my voice has almost completely gone because of the man flu It's absolutely typical, the showers that have been peppering Cheshire all morning...One has finally reached here at the warmest point of the day and it fell as moderate rain So they fizzled out before reaching here early this morning when the temp was 0c and dew of -1.8c but it has no problem getting here when the temp is too high for snow. I think Leicester got cursed by someone at the end of the 90's so that it would hardly snow here and when it does it won't be near as much as somewhere 30 miles away.
  6. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. After looking like we HAD to see some snow from those showers.. They fizzled out before they got here and gave us a drizzle shower. So I still haven't seen a snowflake here yet.
  7. Take care AJ, have a good un I'm off back to bed if she lets me
  8. and they're also breaking up and dying out as they hit the Leicestershire atmosphere  NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! Bet Isaac is gunna post any second that it's snowing there...
  9. Just woken up and came downstairs to kip on the sofa for a bit because I have a bad case of man flu and my Girlfriend is ratty that i'm keeping her awake I was soon cheered up when I saw the radar!! Loads of beefy showers filtering in through the Cheshire gap, on course for Leicester as it stands and the temp is -0.2c with a dew of -1.8c!! The band of showers is currently about 40 miles away now but seem to be moving at about the rate of 5 miles every 10 minutes, i'm hoping they don't fizzle out before they get here, that would be the ULTIMATE kick in the teeth, i'm so close now to seeing my first snow of the Winter. Temp is absolutely perfect, showers aren't far away... PLEASE don't go wrong now!!
  10. I'm up for that! On a side note... Anyone fancy a Christmas BBQ round my gaff next week?
  11. Hmmm, something to look out for tomorrow... Possible Cheshire gap showers reaching across most of the Midlands, looks to be light but it may be the first time some people in the Midlands see a snow flake this Winter
  12. You can back up my claim of Leicester being the most snowless place in the Midlands then Rorkster
  13. LOL, can you tell i'm just a little bit cheesed off with the whole affair? :winky: Come on then 12z run... Give us some cold snap to cling our hopes onto for Christmas.
  14. Flippin eck, things must be bad if you're being pessimistic! This whole event was a let down from the word go, I knew the BBC forecasts shouldn't have ramped it up by showing big swathes of white across a large part of the Midlands for last night, I bet a lot of people expected to wake up to snow this morning and saw nothing but damp and drizzly. My Mum text me last night saying "Going to snow tomorrow" because she saw the BBC forecast and I said "Not sure about that" and look what happened Most of us on here knew it wasn't looking good from the very start.
  15.  You have got to be kidding me, adverse Weather conditions?!
  16. Pah, forget this crap, I want to see the return of an Easterly that brings -10 uppers, at least it's never borderline or 2 degrees too mild in those situations! None of this wet snow/slushy rubbish, powdery snow that settles on everything is the way forwards.
  17. 2 hours later... and it's happening Love watching that streamer just drift past Leicester as it always does.
  18. This is brilliant So if it can go wrong for snow here.. It will. Last night it wasn't cold enough when precip was over us, everything fell as rain, this morning when the temp drops down to 2.2c with a dew of 0c the precip clears away.. Now even if the precip does somehow reach here this afternoon... It's too mild for snow now, temp up to 3.8c with a dew of 0.7c. If it's not one thing it's another.
  19. Birmingham looks to be in a great position for this afternoon from that streamer, Leicester and Nottingham = Bad position. I've seen this happen way too many times before, Cheshire gap streamer plowing through Staffs and Birmingham and missing us.
  20. That Cheshire gap streamer will drift to the West of Leicester, i'll put good money on it.
  21. This could be the double whammy of disappointments for Leicester and Nottingham, first of all.. last nights PPN all fell as rain here, now the temp is finally cold enough for snow.. 2.5c with a dew of 0c and I have a funny feeling that Cheshire gap activity will do that classic thing... Head down through Staffs, Birmingham, Shropshire and Leicester and Nottingham will end up being about 30 miles too far East. Sigh.
  22. I think your temp may be a touch overcooked there hun, it's 2.2c here with a dew of 0.4c and i'm 3 miles from the City Centre but in a residential area so i'd expect it to be maybe 0.5c cooler out in Shilton way
