Tell you what, seeing that 1987 chart has made me remember that famous chart again! i wasn't born in 1987 but i remember seeing posts of that chart last winter and the winter before and boy is that the daddy of all easterlys!!!!!! i dont think we will ever see one like that again, i live in hope though, if we did i would make the most of it :unsure:

Just had a heavy 40 minute ice pellet shower! turned the grass and garage roof slightly white, first time i have experienced such an event!

To my surprise this morning I woke up to a dusting on my 18th Birthday I don't think it has snowed on my birthday before let alone my 18th

Currently got very heavy sleet!

At the minute we now have Moderate/Heavy snow and it has turned the road and pavements from soaking to white in 15 minutes

Had snow falling in Leicester for about 1 and a half hours, just stopped now but has settled on cars and grass, that band of PPN is very borderline as to whether it hits me again later or not!

I woke up too late to see it! but my grandad said when he woke up at 8am there was snow on the roofs and cars and i believe it because TEITS said he had light snow cover at 7am - 9am in peterborough, only around 40 miles east of me, but when i woke up everywhere was soaked because it is now raining, not even sleety Unbelievable pics Thanks for them shoadowcat you must be ecstatic with that snow i would be! By the way, the PPN was forecast to come across today likeit is doing BUT like i suggested yesterday and today, only at levels over 300m can i see it falling as snow through the daytime, around 11pm afterwards then i could see it happening at lower levels, but you are one of a lucky few that live high up and are seeing the snow

Had about 6 snow showers here today in Leicester, currently clear and icy at the minute but with 1cm or 2cm snow around in places still.

Ahhhhhhhh memories!!!!! Being only 17 that is the best snowfall ive seen and remember us having in the midlands and boy did it stay for a while night time temps of around -10 or under and day time temps of around -2 they were the days Love a repeat of that this winter i really would Did you see some notable snow from that event TEITS? because i remember it coming from the west and sweeping right across the midlands and going across the east too

On the subject of snow does anyone remember the dumping wales and the midlands got in december 2000? or is it just me I remember we had 4 inches overnight and then we had high pressure for about 5 days which led to night time temps of about -10 and the snow staying for about a week Did this affect any other areas?

Had snow here from 3pm till around 10 minutes ago, and still lightly snowing on and off Left around 2cm
