  1. Hey Sam Jowett, I see it's your website and data that is on XCweather then Pretty cool! I like the website aswell, very good.
  2. Bet my Auntie, Uncle and their kids are loving it in Aberdare! In the valleys man!
  3. arrghhh, well I just hope it adds to the snow I still have on the grass, the roads and pavements are melting anyway but I would like the snow on the grass to be added to so I can actually build a snowman later! I didnt do it yesterday and most of the snow except on the grass is melting so I desperately need a top up!
  4. Well if its snowing in Milton Keynes and Reading then surely I should get snow when it comes here? The 850's are still around -5 in Leicester whereas down south they are around -3 so I'm hoping it will help me.
  5. Oh great! Not! Better not be rain and sleet here, might just go mad if west of brum gets 5-10cm and 40 miles east I get rain and sleet.
  6. What the hecks happened! I wasnt expecting this today!!! The band of rain sleet and snow is already reached Birmingham and looks to be forecast to be going on for me for most the day and into the early hours of tomorrow morning Again the radar shows precip over me but nothing is happening at the moment, its only light precip though anyway, i'm sure once the heavier stuff gets here it will start. So England beat Australia again! and this time in the final and now this rain/sleet and snow band has arrived ahead of forecast and could give me some more snow! What a day
  7. Yeah it settled a treat on the paving and the grass They were taken just before midday and we had heavy snow lasting from 1-2pm so thats now been topped up by a cm or 2 No doubt it will be gone by this time tomorrow because i'm sure the sun will get to work and melt the snow tomorrow but it's been nice to see a decent fall of snow again this winter this one is probably a bit more than my last fall of snow which was 24th of January.
  8. 3-4 inches in coalville! Wow, I know someone who lives in Coalville, the lucky gits! I only got about an inch and a half and they saw twice that amount.
  9. --> QUOTE(Paul B @ 9 Feb 2007, 12:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Andy, there is certainly the chance of some further snow during the times you mention, but I suspect it will turn quite quickly to rain during Saturday morning. Thanks for the feedback Paul, much appreciated We will have to see how the models handle it tomorrow, would be nice to have a few hours of decent snow falling before it turns to rain, better than rain from the start!
  10. Just thought i'd post these for you all to see I took these pics at around 11:30am and I think we have another 1-2cm snow on top of whats shown in these pics from the snow that fell from 1pm -10pm. Sorry for the quality, they are from my webcam but I thought id post them anyway, ive never posted snow pics of my own before
  11. I wish I remembered snow like that I dont think I have ever saw more than say 6inches here in Leicester since I was born in 1988, never has it even come near to going through a tunnel in the snow or being enough to build an igloo! I would love to witness about 10 inches of snowfall on the ground with day time temps not reaching above 0, I long for the day I get to see it here in Leicester!
  12. Yeah got around 4-5cm where I am on the outskirts of Leicester, hardly enough to close schools but it was nice to see a decent fall again only 2 weeks after the last one and for once it didn't melt during the day like it has done for the past few years!
  13. I would just like to ask if any of the forecasters on here could give me an idea of what to expect between midnight and 6am on saturday morning? By looking at the models I could see sleet/snow when the band pushes into my area but then turning to rain later in the day on Saturday, I'm far from an expert though.
  14. Lets hope it is snow! My birthday is 2 days after and I would love some snow as an early pressie
  15. I live near fosse park, Just behind Meridian leisure park... I dont know what it was like around the area but my street would have stayed covered all day if the gritters hadn't of ruined it, my bakc garden still is covered though. I think the city centre is always a degree or so warmer and struggles to settle there, Im surprised you didnt have quite a bit in charnwood when you went home, Desford area always used to be worse off then my area when I went school in Desford and it snowed.
  16. Ahhh yeh I thought that would be the case, well I hope it goes well for you and you see some more snow to top up the stuff you have already  I'm planning on building a snowman tomorrow because the snow hasnt melted in my back garden at all apart from next to the patio door and I didn't have enough energy to make one today after being up all night following the radar
  17. For Hereford or for the midlands in general? I would guess just Hereford. I'm looking at the early hours of Saturday morning with some interest. With the temps hovering around freezing till around 9am on Saturday I think I could see a repeat of todays event but not quite as good or as long lasting. The upper air temps for around 12-6am when the band comes across me arent great for snow, around -3 they would be BUT with the temp hovering around freezing for the majority of the time that PPN is forecast to be over me between 12 and 6am I think I could either get freezing rain, sleet or hopefully snow. Is very marginal for snow though, I may get lucky and get a few hours snow before it turns to rain later in the day, certainly would be pleased if I could get a few hours snow before the milder air sets in though.
  18. Amazing day here in Leicester! Snow finally reached here about 6:30am and then snowed moderatly till around 12pm then it stopped and I thought it was my lot... but then it started to snow heavy and lasted for about an hour which must have added another 2cm to the 2-3cm we already had laying. It then snowed lightly for the rest of the evening and it only just stopped snowing about half an hour ago! Our street was lovely and white until the gritter came about 1pm to ruin it The pavements are still white and havent melted one bit around 5cm on the grass and probably 4cm on the pavements but it was great to see snow falling for such a long period, turned out to be a very good event for me in the end I see Worcester was the worst hit! And I remember last night some people were on here at around midnight saying that the band was dying out in the south-west and it was going to go wrong and it was a big let down...Then bang they end up being the worst hit
  19. I think some people are overcooking the snow amount near me, I have got 2cm at best at the moment and its been snowing for about 1 and half hours and pretty heavy at that aswell! Mackerel are you sure you have 10cm? I bet if you got a ruler out and measured it it wouldnt be 10cm.
  20. Chucking it down for last half hour now Around 2cm currently on all surfaces, it's not a world beater for snow depth but if this keeps up most of the day like forecast then freezes over tonight it will be amazing! Also I would just like to mention about what I was saying at around 1-2am last night for people in the west midlands who kept saying things like... "its over" "its a let down" "downgrade! downgrade!" I did tell you guys to stop complaining and wait until tonight and then moan if you hadnt seen snow... But it looks like you lot are happy as anything in the west midlands at the moment so I would just like to say that I told you not to start writing it off before it happened
  21. Amazing pics! Thats some serious snow there! I wonder where The Enforcer and Mr Crazy Snowfan are, they will be loving this
  22. Wonderful scenes here now in south west Leicester Just took the dog for a walk and it started off as light-moderate snow and now its full blown heavy stuff and settling everywhere! The roads are treacherous here and when the snow is blowing towards you it feels like a blizzard, its not quite a blizzard though but I would call it heavy snow
  23. 2 inches already!!?? your not gunna like coming to Leicester today if you are mate... not even 1cm here yet, but the snow is getting a bit faster
  24. Arrghhh, very small dot above you on the radar! But at least your showers are doing what they say If ours were doing that down here I would have had snizzle at 4am! Its only just started about 15-20 mins ago by the looks of it. That Leicester Square webcam has come on a treat! Seems the ungritted parts have a few cm's. Still snowing too!
