  1. Thats like one of those jokes a stand up comedian does and people laugh but at the same time go "ooooohhhhhhhhh"
  2. They must be re doing the warnings this afternoon to go with the 12z UKMO update, if they have actually binned the warnings because of a new development in the models... I think i'll actually jump head first out of my bedroom window
  3. Yeah I would say that's a good estimation, I think it will be an exciting 48 hours from tomorrow though, tracking the PPN on the radar, keeping a close eye on other observations around the country, current temperatures, where the PPN will stall etc... That's why I love Weather in this country, it's so unpredictable!
  4. It probably will do to be fair, small changes between now and Saturday can make a huge difference though, even if the front got shifted another 50-100 miles further West.. Would make a lot of difference to a lot of people, the majority of models at this moment in time though are saying it will stall in the South East though so that's the form horse right now.
  5. It doesn't, the front may have cleared the Midlands by the time it stalls in the South East.. If it stalls in the South East. Nobody really knows yet where it will stall, we'll only really know on the day.
  6. Getting a bit of stick from those Southern nancys in the South East thread *gets boxing gloves out*
  7. Looks like there could be a nice 2-3 inches for East Anglia and the South East before the main system arrives on Saturday evening, if the HIRLAM model turns out to be correct...
  8. The Northamptonshire and Staffordshire snow shield gets turned on for Saturday... http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-app/weathercharts?LANG=en&DAY=3&MAPS=vn&CONT=ukuk&LAND=__&ZEIT=201202050600
  9. It does match up to what the GFS is currently predicting though...
  10. I stayed up till about 2am and I think Blizzards was on here till then too, when it started off as heavy rain in Birmingham I knew then that it was game over by the time it reached me  On that chart you'd think that Wales and 80% of England saw some heavy snow for a time but the reality was.. Only about 5% of England saw snow and that was above 300m in the Pennines!
  11. I still don't trust the BBC with this event for Saturday, never again after the mistake they made a few years ago.. Anyone remember this? That was 12 hours before the actual event and what happened? it started off as sleet for about 5 minutes and then lashed it down with rain for hours,. The only place that saw a bit of snow was the pennines, one of the worst forecasts i've ever seen.
  12. It's just clouded over and there are flurries falling again, there is a very very fine dusting here from the odd shower overnight but it's a very sparse dusting.
  13. I posted this in the Midlands thread but i'll post it in here for you guys too, showers building around the Wash/Lincolnshire coast..
  14. I do understand what you mean, AJ is fine modding this thread but sometimes i'll post something in the model thread as a reply to somebody's question and it will get deleted when it was a valid answer, bit annoying but I don't want to complain about any of the mods because they do have a tough job at times with that model thread. Some PPN coming onto the radar now around the Wash/Lincolnshire coast...
  15. I mean, I can't blame you for wanting to get a train to Leicester this weekend, who wouldn't! Great city :winky: I'm listening to the game at the moment too.. NUUUGEEEENTTTT!!! I'M ON FFIIIIIIRRREEEEE *cmon AJ, sing with us*
  16. *wipes away tear* Look at Leicester sitting there under all that snow potential. I feel like a proud Dad at his kid's first school play.
  17. Oh that is beautiful, look at Leicester slap bang in the middle of it :w00t: Brings a tear to my eye I tell ya.
  18. Indeed! I'm interested in tonight/tomorrow too, there is potential here for a Wash streamer to set up, it probably won't be much, light-moderate showers that will be hit and miss but just seeing a little dusting would be nice!
  19. Interesting developments sir Christopher I normally see my Girlfriend every evening/night but I won't be seeing her tonight because she's going weight watchers then cinema with her girly friends  That leaves me in peace to do some radar watching like the sad man I am :winky:
  20. More twists and turns than you on F1 2011 :winky: Check this satellite pic animation that someone posted in the South East thread... http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa_animasjon.html Shows some nice cloud formation which looks to be a streamer of some sort heading towards The Wash, where will it head to after that??? *prays it comes way inland*
  21. Thanks for that mate, that satellite animation is superb! Best one i've seen in the 9 years i've been following the Weather!
