  1. STILL nothing falling here Still can't believe how far East the main bulk of precip is either, it's crazy that it's still not moving SW yet, still on a S/SE movement.
  2. It's been here for 4 hours now and still not a flake. According to the accumulation charts.. If all of that had reached the ground we would have about 5cm of snow now!
  3. You are near Western Park? Whereabouts? My Girlfriend lives just off Park Rise!
  4. Does it? AWESOME!! I really think nobody expected that massive chunk of PPN in the North Sea to be there at this stage, I certainly didn't, it's massive...
  5. I think this band is now way further East than anyone predicted. That stuff in the North Sea is HUGE, no model predicted there would be that much that far East. This is good news for the East Midlands, East Anglia and South East IMO.
  6. I STILL don't understand why we now have moderate precip over us but nothing is falling still. Yet Birmingham has the same level of precip and has rain/ice pellets falling, Peterborough has snow falling, Nottingham does, Northampton did earlier yet nothing is reaching the ground here? I'm at 75m ASL so i'm not on THAT low ground.
  7. I still think the NAE hasn't got this PPN in the right position even though it shifted Eastwards on the 12z run. Compare it to the ACTUAL radar at this moment in time.. It really hasn't picked up the PPN over the North sea or what's developing over East Anglia!
  8. This Evening and Tonight: Snow continuing through this evening and overnight becoming heavier at times. Some significant accumulations are possible in places. Snow starting to clear later with icy conditions developing. Minimum temperature -3 °C. Oh, that sounds beautiful to me
  9. My prediction at 9am this morning, so far so good...
  10. This is getting extremely annoying now, another yellow blob just passed over us and nothing is falling, yet places like Milton Keynes, Peterborough and Nottingham have snow falling now, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
  11. Can someone explain to me why the air hasn't moistened up here enough yet for anything to fall? Nick L explained in the Midlands thread a few hours ago why nothing was falling from the sky even though the radar may show moderate PPN but Nottingham, Derby, Northamptonshire and Peterborough have snow falling, we have had PPN over us for over an hour now and it's still bone dry, why only here?
  12. Zakos... You and me both need this to be further East than the 06z showed  At the moment it does look further East than the NAE PPN charts showed, that is a definite. We have been under PPN for about an hour now though and still nothing is falling, when is this damn air going to moisten up
  13. It's a better sign for us Leicesterian snow lovers! The NAE is quite a way out with its PPN placement if you ask me.
  14. The UKMO model seems to have predicted the position of the PPN far more accurately than the NAE has at the moment... So there's still hope for us in the central Midlands!
  15. I'm getting anxious now, I told my Girlfriend this morning that it's going to snow here tonight and she might not have to go to work tomorrow (she has to drive 10 miles to get to the Primary school she works at) but if that PPN skirts to our West... I'm in the dog house
  16. When would you expect it to actually start falling in Leicester Nick? It's like torture seeing a yellow blob just come over us and nothing fall from it
  17. The NAE seems to be quite a way off with it's PPN placement to be honest. This is what the NAE says for this afternoon and this is the actual radar shot right now...
  18. I'm amazed at how far West the models changed this at the last minute. Last night the NAE had the bulk of the PPN heading into central England, now they have it heading into Wales
  19. Oh dear, so we are under moderate PPN right now but nothing is falling, here we go again
  20. This PPN seems WAY ahead of schedule to me  A heavy blob has just hit Nottingham and is making a b line for Leicester, I didn't expect to see this kind of precip here until about 6pm at the earliest
  21. A pic I took this morning of Braunstone park near me.. The lake is mostly frozen over and there is still a good 5cm of snow left on the grass, apologies for the poor quality though lol, the camera on my phone is 8MP but I was freezing cold and shaking
  22. Well, it could reach here by midday if it carries on like this! I would prefer it to arrive this afternoon/evening though when the colder 850's are in place.
