  1. Don't think it will stop in Hatfield for a while, you may even move into a sweet spot currently running N/S from Sevenoaks upto around Cambridge. If that shifts west you will get more.
  2. Proper snow in Canterbury, paths entirely white, although they mainly were anyway, looks quite persistant. My concern ( depending on point of view) is that the heaviest stuff currently over Brussels will miss us entirely and end up in the sea. Still I expect quite a few Kentimetres.
  3. South London I guess will get 2 - 5 cm but you may be waiting a bit, also need the front from the continent to pick up some moisture.
  4. Despite winds indicating almost due North some of that ppt does seem to be pushing in on an easterly track, odd...
  5. Haha yes I spotted the "Stour streamer" event predicted to go as far as Canterbury, more of a Nailbourne nibbler I suspect,
  6. Looks to me like it is forming a "Stour streamer" heading specifically to the snow capital of the known world , ie Canterbury. Just checked the security light and there are a few flakes in the wind.
  7. -6.9 in Canterbury atm, which isn't bad as we are 8 miles or so from the coast
  8. I think we could have an interesting few hours tonight, my weather station is registering -3.4 in Canterbury, Metoffice predict +1 for this time. So either the warm moist air is taking longer to arrive, or it is going to arrive on time with much colder air in front. Now unless I am mistaken colder air is denser and thus harder to shift out the way, this could well extend the battle ground time. As I said , could be wrong but I think a sleety or even snowy mix could occur in the early hours.
  9. 100% blizzard on way to stansted at 5.30 - 6. am snow laying on cars.
  10. Drove through a crazy snow storm for about 20 minutes at 5.30 - 6,00am real blizzard, snow mask on windscreen, arrived at location near Stansted and all cars were covered in snow.
  11. Well can beat that -4.3C a little earlier meant to be 3C according to Meto,
  12. Certainly squalled over me a few minutes back, it was cats and dogs. Pressure drop 18MB in last 12hrs
  13. Have to agree that the temperature drop has been impressive. I don't think there is any chance on this front of rain but the next blobs coming in might hit us at a colder than expected temperature. According to predictions it should be 7C and a SW wind, but it is already 4.6C and defo not a SW wind out there
  14. Can't say I remember the June snow fall ,although I am old enough , according to Bob Ogley's book it also snowed at the Essex vs Kent cricket match in June 1975, more recently there was snow reported at Birmingham airport in June 1985
  15. Well after 10 days of laying snow in the back garden causing an entire white covering it is starting to retreat in Canterbury, our snowman Charles I who's head fell off last Sunday is now missing his torso which fell off last night during the slight thaw. Now 3.7C and warmiing fast..
  16. Few spatters of rain now falling, imagine the roads are interesting now due to ice.
  17. Next batch of something is about to smash into Kent coast , temperatures have risen noticably fro -6C at 6.30 to -2.8 during last snow now to -0.2 will it be snow or rain, I guess I will know in about 20 minutes
  18. -6.2C now ,rate of decrease now more like 0.5C per hour, Would indicate heading towards a minimum of around -10 again , or lower.
  19. Now a chilly -5.4 , temperature dropping about 1C per hour, so could be due a lower minimum than last night
