  1. Snow warnings, pinks on the radar, snow on the ground and a chill in the air......who needs an easterly anyway. 384hrs out there seems to be one currently being 'nailed on'.
  2. I'm using something similar to picture below for forecasting at present. Cold week, snowy intervals, ice and slightly milder friday to sunday then possibly colder next week. Alot of radar watching at present, alot of disappointment from weather front last night, but we've done well this winter imo.
  3. PPN now coming from a NNW direction. Some big blobs could give a wee top up to some areas throughout the day.
  4. Do the shower seem to be stalling slightly? The one over us at present has given heavy snow for the last 45 mins and not really moved to far.
  5. The shower here at the minute is very heavy, place was white this morning and currently being topped up. The freeze last night has made the roads like an ice rink this morning. Last nights front we got hasn't pushed to far into the mainland uk going by the radar.
  6. Wonder could this have beaten the record for the slowest ever moving front....or is it the antipication and let down that has contributed to these thoughts Hopefully some heavy showers pop up overnight now a skiff has set a base
  7. If it keeps snowing the way it is here at the minute MS, in 2 weeks time i’ll have an inch in the ground
  8. Lol, strange ole night neiller. We need another system to move in laidan with moisture about now
  9. Snowing here and a very very light skiff so far, perfect conditions tonight but precipation amounts just not on our side.
  10. Looking better for the east as it slowly slowly moves this direction. Any reports from west of the Lough in the snow zone?
  11. This definitely is a slow moving front, looking forward to later now. The ground is nice and dry around here, dew points around 0 to -1 at present, very light wind, nice cold ground.
  12. The picture reminds me of my old west highland terrier
  13. I hope this doesn’t turn to West v east argumentive forum like the MOD thread
  14. The gfs, which in my opinion has modelled cold spells well this winter, has potential from Monday evening right through to next weekend. Snowmaggeden is off the cards at present, but still good to see some will get some of the white stuff this week coming. Has been an interesting winter ao far and for me beats the relentless rain and storms which we’ve had past winters. One more cold snap would do me.....then roll on summer, missing the bbq food and a bit of sun on my back. Want to get a bike and start cycling also
  15. East looking best for this one and at only 72 hrs. This would surely cause the fronts to slow towards the west of our wee country? Potential looks great for next week, really interesting model viewing. Trusty lampposts (for those lucky enough to have one) are going to get some viewing also.
  16. Defo Neiller, wouldn't be the first time at all Good to see all the same and fingers crossed. I'd take the GFS all day long for Tuesday.....its been good imo modelling previous events this winter.
  17. GFS showing the fun starting from next Tuesday. A read of the MOD thread and everyone is in good spirits. Could be an epic cold spell
  18. Looking good then ronan? haven’t paid much attention to things lately between one thing and another.
  19. Radar going a bit green. Big blob off the the west of donegal incoming, if it was snow a few could get a decent covering.
  20. If this was Oct or start of nov tomorrows snow potentional would have this forum alight. Don’t expect much, if any, but good to see all the same, a bit of interest may gather around the radar mid morning. Automated MetO showing heavy snow at my location for 3 hrs from 11am.....I know the crack with them, but interesting all the same
  21. At 42hrs we could be getting a wee snow event. Anyone any thoughts
  22. Was woken at about 4.30 this morning as we come under attack from stone throwers.....a look out the window confirmed it was massive hail beating off the window. place is white this morning with hail stones, would be a good base if we could get some snow but to close to the sea and only 6ft alltitude here.
