Stunning charts.....rumour has it it’s to be that cold next week that chickens have already been seeing queuing at KFC for a go in the deep fat fryer to keep warm Going to enjoy the early part of this week with milder temps.....looks like we won’t see them again for a while, but need to get the logs stocked up to -
Things still going the right direction for cold, really really cold MS. Some of the windchill charts are giving me the shivers already As you say, would be good to see ECM on board, the MOD thread will bust at the seams if it does. Some fantastic charts being spat out at present, has the ‘potential’ to be a memorable event. Monday looks like the first day we could see snow chances from the east.

Will it ever be.....apart from nowcasting rochey? Such an emotional time for many in MOD thread, really interesting period of weather if it does come off, but i suspect it may water down before then, seems almost to good to be true some of it. Hopefully the east gets a pasting and one more last hurrah for all this winter........then roll on spring.

I’m seriously concerned about what’s just happened......i’m starting to get roped into this all now after a good read of MOD thread.......Spirits are the highest i’ve seen in a long long time in there.....the pleasantness is uncanny

Had a quick look after the positive comments above. They are discussing charts that would be classed as FI at any other time of winter? Think i’ll wait until 24 hrs out before telling the family, but spring looks a while off yet

Had a read of the last 8 pages of the MOD thread and now i'm an emotional wreck........i just want it to be spring TBH We have had numerous cold shots, snow, frost, wind, rain this winter.....been an exception of the norm of recent years.....excellent imo. BUT.........I'd say if there was a chance of heavy snow again I'll yet again be roped in.

Temps as per the MetO automated at present and as was earlier on today, 2 degrees to reach a max of 5 approx 4am then dip to 1 and heavy snow for 4 hrs. MetO just lowered impact on Majority of NI

It’s certianly slow moving this evening.

The front has now started reaching the far west of Ireland, some greens showing up but the main front is rain. Will be interesting to see how it develops as it pushes further east through the evening and into tonight. Will be interesting at my locations from 5am onwards. Would be good to see pinks appearing in the west as it progresses eastwards and for the cold air to uncut and give decent accumulations for east Tomorrow morning rush hour will be fun if the attached comes off.

The front is just approaching the west of Ireland, based on SAT24. It doesn't seem to be moving to quick. Would be great to get the colder air dig in a lot earlier than 5am. Could be a few surprises tomorrow morning.

Sat24 still showing ppn coming in from the west, broken up but with temps well down and it being dark still could get a few more cm’s overnight for some

Still showing a lot of cloud out to the north west but broken up so overnight looks pretty similar to today.

Temps dropped to 1degree, already feeling colder than earlier, the last shower here was heavy and has left a good coating. Hopefully showers continue through this evening and through the night. Any showers today melted away quickly, if they hadn’t I would have at least an inch or 2 Would be good to see some of these showers starting to merge now

It’s snows heavy, then it melts, then it snows heavy, then it melts. Roll on darkness, could do with temps a couple of degreees less and the wind to die down. Radar been looking tasty all morning and heavy ppn is reaching here.....if these showers would merge as we get closer to darkness we would be laughing. Hopefully they don’t die out later, but by MetO update it appears they do
