  1. Galloway Forrest park seems to absorb the ppn ms
  2. Scottish amber warning for east coast from 6am tomorrow morning, hopefully we can get the tail end of their ppn tomorrow
  3. What’s your thinking on the ‘big event’ Steve for Ireland. Some of us are thinking damp squib, but with the models flipping about so much and certainty levels low, it’s had to be positive. Good to see your getting a good dumping
  4. Hopefully not any earlier as I have dublin day trip tomorrow and don’t want to be stranded half way home ?
  5. The front to the top left of snow radar shows this feature to run from NE and when hits northern England then turn slightly more east as per the wind modelling, something to keep an eye on early tomorrow morning. GFS models it to break up before it would reach us but a lot of it runs down the Irish Sea, so the east could be involved
  6. I think at present we would all bank this chart, shows Fridays low pushing north up over Ireland and giving some serious snow. From tomorrow afternoon we should be seeing snow showers pushing in, intermittent but possibility of showers merging and gaining weight as they cross the Irish Sea from the north east. The north of Ireland looks to hold onto the colder air until a breakdown on Sunday with rain incoming on Monday. Things will change constantly and it may be a case of radar and lamppost watching at t0 hours. Good to see warnings issued by MetO already for Friday, but nothing bailed on yet. For what it’s worth automated also looking good for my location
  7. I'm just hoping i don't have to travel to London on Thursday and get stuck, don't mind it in 'normal' weather. It was looking look late last week that it could be cancelled, but like most of these scenarios, now casting is always best.
  8. No confirmation yet on the track of the low, it could track north (yes please) or east (no thanks)
  9. Full east side then, wonder would MetO come on board with amber for east NI
  10. If you animate the radar its jumping all over the place from lisburn to louth, could be a glitch in the matrix. Net weather forum crashing, MetO animated not working......bodes well for rest of week Get the camera charged rochey, we need photos.
  11. Would be good to see that the 0z run is a wobble and that the 6z GFS models what was output yesterday. Tomorrow afternoon still looks like when we could see the snow pushing in from the east, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday and even Saturday still looking good folks. Will be interesting to see if the GFS still mixes out cold come late Friday / early Saturday for the far south.
  12. Ireland says ‘yes’ to having low move north from modelled location as gfs
  13. We should maybe set up a whatsapp group incase servers go down again at a critical time
  14. Everyone into bed early tonight, gonna be a long week of model reviewing, radar updating, lamppost watching, forum commenting, utter excitement and more importantly.....snow shovelling.
  15. At present on gfs, it has Ireland in prime position for a serious dumping as it tracks north. Loved today, crisp cold air, wall to wall sunshine and blue skies, roll on spring after one last hurrah this week. As MS mentions, Tuesday we over here should start seeing snowing from the east
  16. Another snow chart showing potential this week......another head wreck more like
  17. A whole rake of snow symbols now showing on MetO for my location from Wednesday......good sign so far. haven’t ventured into mod thread since earlier and they where arguing about people looking for brake down in cold.....wing nuts at times
  18. Definitely bottled, We eagerly await the track of the low, it could give mega depths
  19. For those south of the border.....based on the 12z gfs.....we wish you well towards the end of this week......when your communications are back up and running.....let us know how your are.
  20. Was nearly an minute there from me...squeaky bum time......good game but
  21. I hope you folk get a good dumping of snow next week to make up for the thrashing your rugby team are getting in Dublin Will be keeping an eye on this forum next week to see what’s coming our way in Ireland.....good luck guys
  22. IMO the gfs has modelled snow events for us in Ireland quite well this winter season, although from a NW flow, I watch it with optimism for this up and coming spell and based on the attached......i’m am preparing for Tuesday. If you run on through the frames come Friday some of the systems seem to stall over Ireland giving massive totals. Hopefully Net Weather servers are ready for this week coming......and possibly into the week after
  23. March 13 was mega for me, had about 10 inches at home then working in Antrim the snow drifts over the mountain where 10ft high. I remember my brother in law heading out to clear snow up over the ligonel mountain with the big JCB farm shovel, there was cars being found buried. It would skin you out today in the wind, only to get worse next week to. The setup seems to favour east, especially towards the end of the week where some of the features seem to stall over Ireland as they come up against the Atlantic
