    Now that’s a weather forecast - never seen the infamous John Kettley farming forecast from the Sunday online though would love to see that again !

    Rain rattled through earlier than expected here in Surrey was pretty intense for a while - wonder if we will get the wind later currently looking not too much of a threat so far..?

    That shows quite a punch of 60 mph winds up through Surrey’s and into Sw London would have thought that warranted a weather warning ! ?

    dodged a bullet for Keswick area I think today , although it is setting in a bit presently but wont last ...?

    No sign yet of the rinse and repeat oragraphic rainfall over the Lake District that was forecast .. not complaining though !

    Fresh start got down to 8.5c here in N Surrey , the low angle if the sun is really notable now I think the highest temps will be reserved for the UHI of London and maybe E Anglia today ... was on the s coast at Rye / Camber yesterday and it was really fresh in the breeze almost chilly

    in the blustery Surrey hills we topped out at 14.8 and that was just for a minute ... have lit a log fire I couldn't put the heating on in August !!

    It’s been an enjoyable summer from a weather perspective because it has been so varied - it’s basically been unsettled ever since June !

    its been really warm today after yesterdays soaking - the word for this August is unsettled in my mind !

    this month shows how amazing August 95 was for countrywide heat and securing the record breaking CET it was also really settled and dry - although we have had some heat this month its been very unsettled also. Personally the hunt for a settled warm August goes on !

    must be in with a chance of record going today if these conditions persist in North Surrey just a few miles to the south east of Heathrow it is perfectly clear and not still and 33c in a Stevenson screening my back garden !!

    Temp bottomed out at 19.9c here in the outer burbs of North Surrey without air conditioning it must be pretty grim - I don’t think you can underestimate how much of a difference it makes , if you can’t retro fit it to your home then maybe a portable unit in the bedroom is the answer ?

    just 2 miles up the road from Wisley the diurnal range today is truly continental it was a fresh 14c at dawn this morning...
