  1. couldn’t agree more Surrey is completely waterlogged standing water everywhere roads flooded between Cobham and Ockham ... very surprised no warnings re precipitation for this part of world tomorrow..?
  2. Back home in Cobham it’s noticeable how high the water table is particularly around Esher Common - the Mole is pretty high too if we have any more significant rain flooding could become a real problem ....
  3. Lovely part of Manchester - Cobham is like the twin of Hale !! You just replace Man U players with Chelsea ones !
  4. No still based in Cobham ! But have acquired a pad now in Hale too not as exotic as Prague !
  5. People get really hung up about borders and addresses in this part of the world -Hale is administratively part of gtr Manchester we are in the metropolitan borough of Trafford - but our postal address is Cheshire and our post code prefix is WA for Warrington!
  6. Given your location I think a BFTE is your most snow sure event - I would have said the same for my location in Surrey but today was the best single snow event since 2010 , we can always get surprised!
  7. I was quite confident all this talk of Surrey hills being a potential sweet spot - now looking less so ...
  8. feb 85 was a fairly unremarkable month not sure what the relevance for now is ??
  9. Are they the ones from Storm Desmond ? I can’t see even the most prone spots bearing those totals !?
  10. The over zealous snow chart has been a common theme of the season !
  11. I believe it’s been ongoing all day but by looking at the radar I am yet to see anything particularly extreme - as ever time will tell
  12. GFS precipitation charts at that range are not known for being accurate
  13. Where are you predicting constant snow cover for from Friday afternoon may I ask ?
  14. It’s actually been relatively quiet in here today which is a good thing as that must mean so far not too many impacts from the rain - I understand it’s still a way to go but it could have been worse ! Still think it’s been a miss from those weather warnings and the maps though !
  15. I get your point re the warnings but the comment about a stab vest is sensationalist and a bit much for a science based forum - quite rude actually
  16. I think you are correct precision is really important with these warnings and is sometimes lacking / hope you stay dry and incident free !
  17. The M Office need to get in new designers to improve the communication to the general public. That map with several overlay warnings is bad design and would be confusing to many people!
