whats happening in Essex - Romford to Tilbury
and Kent - Tonbridge to Tenterton
Convection firing over the last couple of frames of the radar.
Random or the start of something?

some minor convection firing up inland in Essex and Kent - bit of a surprise

Light to moderate snow in Tunbridge Wells, despite a rather underwhelming looking radar. Minimal accumulation - perhaps half a centimetre through the afternoon

The models have had a shocker with this little area of snow that has developed. I don't think a single one got that area develop at all. Thats obviously a good reason why you need to keep a close eye on these things!
Flow at the moment is NE, indeed its closer to NNE for the moment before it shifts back to ENE later this evening. and we need to watch obviously in the Thames region from 7-9pm onwards to tomorrow morning.
looks like the estuary may be firing now

Do you mean a snowperson, Xander? You'll get the PC Brigade all upset!
And if you want to be super 'woke', try building a BAME snowperson

Looks like those beefy showers the Lincs and Humber have been getting plastered with are gradually moving south.
Moderate snow here again - 5-6cm where yesterdays snow had survived - should get 1 or 2cm more out of the current situation

further 1cm overnight
Nothing above on the radar now - but light snizzle - could be snow blowing around or there is some light ppn to the north east of here so feasible it is blowing in from that.
Some heavier stuff a bit further east - not convinced it will make it here.

Snow much lighter now - possible action in next half hour if that little streamer coming in to the east of Sheerness gets its act together - but very narrow and looks like it might miss.

You must have some snow now? We've had light snow for a while and as you say it's filling in the gaps nicely and topping up the inch or two already lying. Unfortunately can't read the movement of this band, so not sure what chances we can stay under the good stuff for any length of time.
Annoying that all the energy seems to be draining North - they have plenty up there!
Yep - moderate snow has been falling for 20 minutes or so. Where it has fallen on snow from earlier there is now 3-4cm. Where it didnt settle this morning, there is a decent covering.
Another half hour in the greens and dark blues would be really cool.

If my location can just get under the stream, I might get an hour or two of powdery snow. Probably no more than a cm or two - but would be nice because now settling on roads and paths.
It is literally about 5 miles from me and hasnt moved much in the last few frames.

Got a bit of powder snow dropping out of the sky - mainly blowing around in the wind than accumulating.
Frankly I've observed more powder going up peoples noses in a Soho pub on a Friday night.
Disappointing how it has fizzled before it got here. Keeping an eye on the stuff coming from France / Belgium now

still light snow here - blowing about more than accumulating
heavier stuff within 30 mins or so hopefully

Thank you, sounds promising.
some light echoes have fire up near Edenbridge - that's close to you - so might be quicker than I thought for your location

You're not too far from me I think. I'm in Crawley. Do you think it will reach Crawley?
possible - not for a little while and it is losing a bit of intensity but does seem to be moving more west than before

Where is the easterly wind direction now that some have mentioned? Everywhere I look is showing N/NE
the upper level winds are more important.

does look like it is trying to organise with the line above Clacton - would be good if it did - lucky people could be under it for hours

I've felt like All day today , what's even more hilarious is that I'll probably do the same again tonight . My mates think I've proper lost the plot .... I think they're right !!
