  1. It's a little bit doom and gloom in the mod thread. Starting to feel like all the eggs are in the SSW basket and of course that doesn't guarantee cold. I will cling on to any hope I can though because that's what makes this hobby fun. Dreaming of a March 2018 repeat... I hope the mods don't mind me posting these memorable charts / tweets
  2. Yeah I find that thread really exposes the true pessimists on this forum. Must be an awful way to live your life. When the charts show cold prospects in FI, you'll find the "Take it with a pinch of salt" brigade. (Nothing wrong with that by the way) - However, when FI charts flip to mild, those same people believe that's exactly how it will pan out. Unbelievable.
  3. Just missed out IMBY going by the radar. Glad others are seeing some settling snow. Hope more make it down here tonight.
  4. Running through the frames on the radar, the bottom trough appears to be intensifying as it gets closer. 3PM: 4PM: Last one:
  5. Stopped now but that was a nice surprise! Possibility of some hefty showers making their way to parts of our region late tonight / early hours tomorrow morning.
  6. Crazy how marginal this is when parts of Bristol are still seeing rain & sleet. Taking north of the M4 to extreme levels.
  7. Yeah quite surprised to see any tinge of white, just seemed too wet. A heavy shower would give us a slight covering I think.
  8. Things are getting desperate. Watching videos of the last big snow event. What a day this was
  9. I know many on here don't like to look too far ahead (myself included) but there's definitely plenty of interest for next week. I don't take anything seriously past +144 and we're in that timeframe now. As somebody mentioned on the previous page, there's potential for a battleground scenario.
  10. I've asked my dad before about memorable snow when he was younger and he mentioned '81 in particular. Blizzard conditions and could barely see in front of him walking down his street. Definitely wouldn't mind a repeat of that
  11. Yeah just saw this forecast. The graphic did look nearly identical to the 15z... but he did say there was uncertainty as you say. Also mentions the chance of snow showers pushing down from the North on NYE as shown in this graphic: Probably wont come to much but should be a tad less marginal if it does make it down here.
  12. The 10-15 mins of moderate / heavy wet snow was nice to see, but now I'm craving the proper stuff even more. I'm going to chase that dangling carrot again.... on to tomorrow evening.
  13. March 2018 and February 2019 give me hope that it's still possible to see a lot of snow down here. Maybe it's preference and from an IMBY perspective but those months I just mentioned were better than 2010.... which always gets talked about as the holy grail.
  14. Little bit of jealousy browsing the Midlands thread. Some have had the proper 50p sized flakes this morning. Still enough intensity there and not far away now... please fall as snow
  15. I don't think I'm the best guy to ask but as long as it keeps its intensity... it looks on track for your location too. One positive is that if you check the last frame on the radar, there seems to be an increase of intensity out of nowhere. The lower segment that's approaching the north of our region now. Fingers crossed.
  16. Yeah it appears to be breaking up but the intensity is still there so far.
  17. Yeah but doesn't it usually correct southwards? Could be wrong about that though. Looks pretty good right now.
