Yeah I remember measuring 18cm right before the heaviest spell of snow we had all day. It stalled over us and then just kept intensifying... truly incredible. As a one off day for snow, that was probably the best I can remember in my lifetime (Only 30 years old though!) - December 2010 was king for cold and longevity but unless I have a poor memory, I don't recall any days in particular that matched Feb 1st 2019 for snow totals. Enjoyable model thread viewing tonight too. I don't pretend to understand most of it, but it seems all the ingredients are there for something memorable around the corner. It's been nearly 2 years and I need my fix.

Hmm.. how come you posted the worst frame for snow? Just had a look through myself and between 1am and 9am it looks pretty damn good at this range. Weird that you posted the 10am frame which is the worst of the bunch.

Some nice upgrades so far on the UKMO. Just wanna be watching lamposts at 3am.

I had a quick look through your post history and couldn't find one positive post. Even when you had snow you put a negative spin on it. Don't want to sound harsh but what's the point of being on this forum if your main objective is to moan?

Man... this makes me miss yesterday already. All good things come to an end. Hopefully this winter goes out with a bang again. One last dumping in March would be the icing on the cake.

Just measured a little over 5 inches off the table in the garden. Even better than most of us could've hoped for! First snow for my 8 month old Son and the only time he cried was when we got home lol. Loved it.

Snow always looks better when there's very little wind. Moderate / Heavy snow for a good while now, happy days.

MetO show this on both their afternoon and evening forecast. Heavier stuff feeding in later

In the latest MetO forecast (posted 20 minutes ago) they still have the snow pushing into the North of the region between 8PM - 1AM.
