  1. Yeah noticed your post other day regarding this, just a shame conditions never seem to be right for proper snow... been a few poor winters in a row now.
  2. small Low pressure system currently running down eastern side of us at present in north sea, this producing some heavy pulses of rain for some... colder air to the north of this feature so as it clears south during early part of tonight things will turn chilly with frost/ice being a problem in morning. Messy picture friday morning still on timing and how far north that front will be, main band looks just to the south of us but fragmented bands over our region
  3. Well a wet morning here from showers overnight, not sure wether they were wintry or not... netweather radar showing these as snow across the region though. Today should see wintry showers almost anywhere at some point, showers more of rain/sleet at coast. Some will see more than others as is the case with showers, but also some lengthly dry spells too, more so in the east later today. Going from metoffice text this morning for our region and other info some may get a covering overnight as bands of showers cross the region north to south and may be prolonged in places: Tonight: Further sleet and snow may bring patchy accumulations in places during the evening, with this tending to die away later to leave a slight frost and perhaps some icy patches. Minimum Temperature -1 °C. Friday that low pressure and associated front looking likely to be bang over the north east, however looking at this stage to be more rain/sleet than snow... although again metoffice text this morning says snow for friday: Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Unsettled and rather cold through this period, with a raw-feeling northeasterly wind. A period of snow is possible Friday, giving way to wintry showers for the remainder of the period. So to sum up the next 5 days or so, nothing mild, plenty of oppertunities to see some wintry weather... lying snow however may be hard to come by for many of us away from hills though.
  4. who will be the lucky ones to wake up to snow? either falling or lying! I will be out at work driving around quite a bit so will be an interesting day for me
  5. New month and with it a change in weather today with rain clearing quickly to the south now, hopefully some bright spells appearing to east of high ground and milder than of late. It wont last though as a Very showery night ahead with these turning increasingly wintry, could be a wintry start to wednesday morning for some with snow (especially on higher ground) which has been the case all winter. Plenty of chances for some spring snow, all depends on timing of low pressure over coming week... esp friday. problem is that we haven't had any prolonged cold in place at all and with conditions for snow marginal alot this winter just gone it has been dissapointing for many who love snow. After this weekend we could see a return to milder weather or high pressure building in giving cold frosty nights but pleasent days with the sun becoming ever stronger now... as always it will prob change. Thats why we like the weather i suppose.
  6. Cold and frosty morning here with alot of high cloud.
  7. expect an unsettled and increasingly uncertain forecast to end the week. plenty of rain and from wednesday onwards colder weather returns... mild tuesday but with rain and wind around it wont feel pleasant thats for sure. Keen winds at times and when they turn northerly or north eastery later in week some snow is likely. I have a hunch that this upcoming change in weather pattern will deliver this time for our patch and a cool/cold march is the form horse. Thoughts anyone??
  8. Indeed, been a nice evening and now sun gone done temps should drop pretty low tonight.
  9. Signs of things getting colder later next week, obviously places at a lower altitude wont be as cold.
  10. damp start here as overnight showers and a few this morning passed through, showers were mainly of rain here with a bit hail mixed in. bright spells appearing now.
  11. Few showers showing up on radar blowing in from north sea around sunderland area, be nice to know if these are wintry in nature?? cloudy and cold here this morning again
  12. In regards to model output over past few runs, to end of next week and following weekend it is looking to be cold and with low pressure slipping across the uk into the north sea and south allowing cold air to drain across our patch and with a stronger more favourable wind direction and low pressure close by we are more likely to see some wintry weather. need things to firm up over weekend, but could interesting.
  13. cloudy here this morning which has meant no frost but a nip in the air... Nothing much to say really. Happy friday
  14. cloudy and cold here most of the day, cold night ahead especially where cloud breaks for any length of time. Chilly north easterly wind develops into weekend with wintry showers blown in from the north sea although not amounting to anything really. Next week looking more unsettled with bands of rain crossing the region with snow on higher ground interspersed with colder, showery conditions... these sometimes wintry. Nothing mild likely in the foreseable... just briefly next tuesday.
  15. cold and frosty this morning once again, nothing much in the way of change today or tomorrow... i must admit although it's nice to see some sunshine and be dry for once, i do think this type of weather is so boring
  16. A few wintry showers crossing the region to the south just now, then another cold night with a widespread frost leading into another nice day.
  17. Them showers producing snow here at the moment... very wet snow though, more sleet now.
  18. Another cold but lovely sunny start to the day again, much of the same for rest of week too. Even colder tonight followed by a more cloudy afternoon tomorrow with some wintry showers wed evening/night. Bitter east/norteast wind developing into the weekend... main theme though is alot of dry weather for next 5 days
  19. glorious sunny start to the week, plenty of dry weather this week but cold with frosty nights.
  20. totally unrelated to weather, but for anyone who likes it... checkout my second hobbie I am going to do a weather related mix though so add your songs here...
  21. Becoming increasingly cold as we head into next week, not much in the way of snow as of yet with just some wintry showers around from time to time. plenty of frosty nights though.
  22. Ha, yes i do get carried away sometimes in here... just like to share my feelings of what the weather may be like for our region (taking information from meto and the data available) Next week into march is looking very intresting with signs of blocking and more in the way of cold weather
  23. Cold and frosty start here this morning again but not as sunny with rain moving in from west although always more patchy to the east. looking more unsettled as we head through weekend and beyond with chance of some colder interludes with risk of snow over next few weeks... either from showers as systems move east and allow cold air to filter from north or from fronts bumping in to cold air over our region (all depends on timing and position) As always we wont know for sure till nearer the time but the risk/chance is shown in many model output over past few days. Main thing is nothing mild showing nor nothing really cold!
  24. Cold and icy start in places but blue skies and lots of dry weather. Weekend looking not as mild as first thought and wind will take edge of temperature, some rain around too from time to time. Beyond this certainly on the cool to cold side into march.
  25. Rain here this morning and looks more like staying that way today apart from some sleet/snow on higher ground as snow risk will be further south tonight. So a wet and cold day for many but improving from the north slowly. Mild but windy weekend with some rain around before a return to the cooler conditions with the risk of more wintry weather at times.
