Amazing how Met Office radar has mass off ppn over us yet it's broken cloud and dry, their weather symbol has changed 3 times in last hr too...!

If it gets this far it'll probably all skirt round the coast again...like it did Sun night, my friends 10miles away will probably get a good covering and i'll have to wait for the next cold spell...wheneverthat'll be...!

Ah well...the heavy ppn went east of us into the sea...least it's turning frosty again, maybe catch a shower later and have a surprise in the morning...

I can see real heavy ppn heading straight for us on radar...maybe it'll turn to that beautiful white crystaline structure...

Think i'm going to have a break from this site for a couple of days to stop myself getting too depressed...go back to looking at charts/forecasts myself and making my own assumptions...as i've been doing for the last 30yrs...i'm no expert by a long way but i know what's going on...enjoy guys

Really hoping those sliders...if they reach the UK...push way east as i think it's our turn to see some snow next week, otherwise it's bust for us, as 'terrier' says the f/cast on most of the runs i've seen is for the cold spell to break down next Thu/Fri as a strong Jet-stream pushes back in...with a large Azores High thrown for good measure...it couldv'e been so perfect...

Shame the Low didn't track SE y/day then the east coast would be getting snow from a NEly...no chance of that with the current set-up...ah well

Had rain showers here earlier...temp 4.5degC so not expecting anything wintry yet...and the f/cast doesn't look promising for our region either...it's even 5degC and raining in Helsinki...!!

Really gusty here for past hr, Met Office gives it clear tonight but major precip heading this way on radar...temp at 2degC...

Love the pic pip22...lake effect snow in Buffallo, US, last Nov i guess, shame we don't get that here off the sea...

I'm starting to get goosebumps looking at all the charts for next week, could be best winter spell in many years...then again it might change...so trying not to get too excited, however several different weather sites are giving similar f/casts and you guys are very knowledgable so looking fairly certain that even the east coast will get some snow... -
That pressure chart for Sun looks very interesting Norrance, bit like the ones from the good old days in the 70's and 80's...long way off yet though...

Sounds like parts of the Midlands are getting quite a bit of the white stuff...won't make it over this side though...
