Just been looking at the f/cast for next week and once again the snow threat has diminished due to the SW-NE track of the Tue Low and the cold spell that was meant to come from Thu onwards has turned into the usual W/NWly airstream with wind and rain for most...! and i thought winter was meant to start next week...even the Middle East has had a few inches of snow...!! wish that Jet-stream would just bugger off Sth where it should be... -
After seeing the BBC weather f/cast for next week i'm not holding my breath, Low on Tue tracking too far north and cold Nly airstream after Thu Low being turned into milder Wly by approaching systems...rain/wind...rain/wind again for the vast majority of us...ah well

That Greek island footage is just ridiculous...i live at 53degLat and haven't seen snow in nearly 2yrs...Greece regularly gets more snow than UK these days, what's gone wrong with this world..? wish it was the 70s/80s again...

Just seen that the homepage of this site has 'Humberside' as the top 'Hotspot' today at 16degC...strange that when 'Humberside' doesn't exist anymore...and never did for those of us who live here, it's always been East Yorkshire (East Riding for us) and Lincolnshire...quite annoying...a bit like this, and last, winter...

Spare a thought for us poor souls on the flat land on the East Riding coast...whichever way snow comes from it has many obstacles to overcome before we see any, from the W/NW it's blocked by the Moors/Wolds, from the N+E we have a relatively warm sea, the only chance is of real cold here is from the SE off the near continent, which doesn't look too likely ths winter...again...

Starting to get a bit breezy here now, just seen the footage from eastern Med regions...sub zero temps and heavy snow...!! then looked at USA news, many states experiencing temps of -20degC and heavy snow aswell...charming...

Nicely surprised today with a good frost that remained in our north facing garden all day, bird baths frozen solid, temp struggled to 1degC at 2pm...

Even more depressing, i just looked at the Cairngorm Ski centre site and there's no snow cover, it's raining and 2degC...and that's in Scotland at 2500ft asl...!!!

9am this morning, no ice/frost, partly cloudy, temp was 4degC...by 10:30am blue sky and sun and it had dropped to 2degC...maybe the colder air has arrived...

Temp has remained at 1.5degC here for past couple of hours...cloud cover...so probably no frost for us tonight...

Showers petered out over an hour ago, temp down to 1degC...all still and wet...looks like the Moors/Wolds getting some wintry stuff...
