  1. Disagree totally,i've been on the road with my job for nearly 30years now,i would say the last 10 to 12years I have had little or no probs with the winter weather, previous to that significant problems, over nights in car etc. Our climate has shifted, that is without doubt. How it has changed is the point up for debate in my opinion.
  2. Your spot on there, the margin for cold weather is significantly smaller than for warm/heat in summer. The locking in of a winters cold spell is much harder to achieve than a protracted hot spell. But with our seasons becoming far more blurred even the hot spells are proving rare. Today that saying isn't bad at all, good for work, good for non work, just about right in my opinion
  3. I would say that was a fair estimate of a up coming winter for the UK!
  4. Agree our weather has changed and to deny this would be unwise. Poor summers are a pest I again for most people especially with children, average summers would be more than fine. Not many would plump for a baking summer though, spells yes but short lived. Like it or not we are not set up in the uk for long heatwaves, likewise not for long cold spells, the extremes always cause problems.
  5. Suppose that's what they call the north south divide, agree there is a marked difference in the temps between the two.You put your central heating on when up north we are reaching for a cool beer to cool down!
  6. I suppose us primitive northeners just aren't as adapt to cope with warmth and humidity, our caves tend to be cool all year round
  7. That level of humidity with only a slight increase in temp would start to feel a tad uncomfortable to say the least!
  8. Not by me,high yes but was higher earlier in the month.
  9. I agree, the clock is ticking and until we see that pattern change hold firm for a good period of time those chasing heat will be disappointed. Selfish though it is to say but this weather suits me fine, feel much more comfortable. But I know many crave that change.
  10. Look at the meto outlook, consistant for last 7 days, showing no real heat! They could be wrong but we'll see. Hopefully they are for summer lovers!
  11. Looking like first half of july is no go for any heat, warming maybe but to much atlantic influence, this could prove to be a very poor summer i'm afraid. Not good.
  12. Prob near the mark that one,can see next weekend slightly fresher after friday but it may hang on longer this humid spell though not for long.
  13. Thankfully the push of humid conditions will only last a few days from mid week onwards then a return to atlantic influence. What many don't want i know but for old farts like me who dislike muggy weather it's good news, selfish point of view sorry. Don't mind the temps its just that humidity that is not enjoyable in my opinion. Downside is the cloud associated with the weather off the atlantic, which i'm sure we are ALL sick of by now.
  14. Until that general trend of agreement with all the major models becomes even slightly apparent then i'm afraid we are going to be stuck in this rut,i dread to think now if my pessimistic max of 25c reached in my area early this month as the high for the summer will come true. Honestly i hope not, even though i don't like such temps i know so many do.
  15. Totally agree, our seasons have deserted us,can't see much in the way of good summer weather for the northern areas in the next 2 weeks, low twenties at best coupled with a cloud base, not ideal at all.
  16. I think we can safely say June has been a rite off for anybody wanting a hot spell, nothing on the horizon till at least the first week of july, may change but signs aren't good for people who's jobs are focused on these summer months i'm afraid, time yet though. Even the short warm spell at the start of this month was ruined by the humidity.
  17. Fingers crossed then, summer is not my favourite time but even i enjoy the clear blue sky with a nice gentle breeze, don't get me wrong not 30c plus just normal uk weather suits me fine.
  18. Good job that Tim Peak is not trying to land in the uk this morning, never find it under all this ruddy cloud. Remind me is the sky blue,i've forgotten it seems that long since i've seen it!
  19. i think most people these days do not do a 9-5 job, times have changed over the last 10 to 15 years, many have very early starts as they work for small companies where the working day is not fixed by the old routines of set hours.
  20. The bbc outlook is on par with the meto output, nothing of any heat on offer i'm afraid. It's so like winter months just chasing those charts that you want to come true, rarely happens.
  21. At last, the return to actually seeing the the sunrise is on it's way!
  22. Just saying what i'm seeing with regard to the met model for next week end,in my opinion they generally but not always pickup pretty well on any trends. For guys like yourself who appreciate the hot weather i really hope i'm wrong. Everybody should take enjoyment from their preferred weather and its well over due this summer. I wine about the heat and humidity but that's because i dislike it,it certainly doesn't mean others shouldn't enjoy it,far from it!
  23. Me thinks that would be highly unlikely outcome i'm afraid.
  24. Looking bit better for next week now, just wish, wish we could see some blinking blue sky and sun for a change. Last nights storms where a bonus though, long time since the cars been wading through water like that.
  25. Was going to post how i'd just been through the best thunder/rain storm i've seen in years but just heard of the death of Jo Cox MP,she was a MP only a few miles away as the crow flies, such sad news, she was trying to improve lives and got her's taken for the effort. Puts things into perspective.
