It's just rain pretending to be snow in South Liverpool. A few drops join together occasionally to give the impression of a small snowflake but it's not fooling anyone!

I've been waiting for weeks to post on here and it's exciting to see places around me getting sleet/snow but it's only just starting in South Liverpool and it is only drizzle at the moment with tiny flakes mixed in. Fingers crossed for more though!

Looking out of my office window, there is NO weather in south Liverpool.... no rain, no ice, no frost, no snow, no wind, no sun.... just grey stillness. Sigh...

Its been very spring like today, in fact some of the summer flowers are still going.. I took these on a walk today!
Flowering Geraniums in February!
A little early perhaps.
Valerian doesn't usually flower in February (sometimes it does), but can flower year round in very mild climates.

Lovely photos! We saw a couple of flowers on a rhododendron just after Christmas which shocked us!
Seems to me the week coming up will be quite sunny down here by day, but could get a little scattered cloud by evening, as the week progresses though it will be sunny the temperatures will begin to lower again so by midweek we could be perhaps looking at 0C / -1C by day again nearer the weekend. After tuesday night, wednesday we should see overnight temps take a tumble again to around -5C maybe a little colder by the weekend, but i think we should concentrate on the first couple of days rather then getting carried away coz it may do the opposite..it wouldnt be the first time things go wrong with the weather lol but it does look sunny and dry through the week down here tho if a little chilly as time progresses
Thanks HC. Don't mind it being cold as long as it's sunny and/or snowy. It's the grey, wet days I hate.

Walked past quite a few trees today and quite a lot of them had buds on. Bring on spring if all we're going to get is snow with foggy days.
Quite looking forward to seeing bright green trees and grass again
We haven't had any snow here, just freezing rain and ice but it's finished off my geraniums which were still flowering from autumn! The milder winter has allowed daffodils, bluebells and crocus to peep right up out of the soil but I think they've all had a shock this weekend!
I just poppedoin here to see what your opinions are for what this week will bring... any ideas guys?

to me liverpool airport appears to be bang on the money for their forecast so far...with heavy snow expected this afternoon which would tie in with the cold front over ireland at the moment
I do hope you're right Hot Cuppa. I usually take your word for it but all the forecasts seem to have the snow skirting us. Still raining here but I don't think it's freezing rain... the garden just looks soggy!

Hope your Dad's okay. As much as we love snow it's not useful in emergencies.
It's raining here, very light stuff with occasional hailstones. Hasn't stopped for an hour but it definitely is not snow and we're not even seeing icicles as a plus!

I haven't been paying much attention because south Liverpool doesn't get snow easily and up to now, we've only been forecast rain.... but the BBC (I know, I know...) weather has it just skimming me early afternoon tomorrow. Looking at it all, I can't see it lasting but I hope it's down for a couple of hours at least. it will make all these freezing days worth it!

Looking through these lovely photos, I think my other half may have taken a photo of a snow dog last week. The sun was setting over the Welsh hills in the distance and either side, a little distance away from it were two glows like smaller suns but coloured red, yellow and a little blue. We tried to capture it and this was the result.

All our snow had gone by mid day and we've had some lovely sunshine here. It's clouded over now and is raining. There is possibly some sleet in it but not much. Airport recording 5 deg and forecasting rain until Monday.
Edit: Heavy hailstones now!!

Rain/sleet/snow has all stopped now and the sky is brightening up. There is a small amount of thawing going on
but it's been a wonderful day so far! -

0.8C, dewpoint and wet bulb slightly lower, EVERYWHERE white, got videos and pics.
It thinned out a bit here Backtrack and I thought it was turning to rain but it's fluffing up a bit so it should be the same for you.

No Martin, I'm near the Airport in the South. It's just all grey and damp. We are usually the last place in Liverpool to get snow.
I think the Speke umbrella is up!
I'm really pleased for all of you who are getting snow though - Enjoy!

That would crack me up, not being able to access any radars on a day like this.
My colleagues already think I've cracked up because I want snow!!! All I can see out the office window is raindrops and grey skies...

Backtrack, I'm in work so I can't access any radars. Is there a real chance of snow for me in Speke? It's just raining here..... Did you get the thunder about 20 past 9?

It's trying very hard to snow here but we're only getting sleet. We did, however have a huge clap of thunder about 20 minutes ago!

Is this the nice friendly thread? Been lurking in Model Output Discussion and tempers are getting more and more frayed by the day lol :-). Oooo the desperation for cold and snow is really showing now!
lol! We have our frayed moments in here too but not very often! Generally we're all hoping for snow and are usually happy when one or two get it!
