  1. Just look at Thursday's feel like temps 45c, thats hotter than what even London is showing .
  2. Those are the temperatures that the thermometers will be showing, but the extreme humidity will make it feel like low to mid 30s.
  3. Yeah, there are plenty of video's of the Aylesbury storm, even seeing the lightning from distance too. I think I read somewhere that the West Midlands storm could be seem as far south as Oxford and as far North as Manchester, definite multicell but wouldn't be surprised if there was the odd supercell too as there was some pretty large hail with some of them. Very Convective here right now too with some extremely large rain drops falling. Edit - Now just under pea sized Hail. Turning into a pretty interesting day.
  4. We in the West Midlands didn't get the storms of 27th July, but we had the ones on 27th May last year which were also the biggest storms in have ever seen, flooded all streets around here, and tragically killed an elderly man in a deep flood. Bolts were hitting all over and all this continues for around 4 hours. Also this came after the night before where there was an amazing Lightning Display then too.
  5. Yep exactly, either one big one, or several storms widespread with a lot of shear too so they last a long time. We can dream haha
  6. With all these Kent clippers and East England Clippers being mentioned, those are all wrong, what we do need is one almighty MCS British Isles hitter, no clippers lol.
  7. Another one for Wednesday's potential, low resolution so I doubt it will be this widespread, but certainly could get a mini plume type situation with some storms, not getting hopes up just yet though, gonna see what the models are showing Sunday Night/Monday, if they are still showing this or similar, then it will be time to start getting excited .
  8. This rain is a lot further south than expected and a lot heavier than expected in the east, certainly going to cause some problems over the next day or 2 as the rivers rise.
  9. Yeah there was strobe lightning at one point as it was approaching, was watching Berlin webcam, and took this snap of it before it hit. Back here though looks like another immensely wet night, I've heard a few mention there could be some very heavy rain tonight over the north midlands, north wales and north west England, we shall see, but what's coming in from the east is interesting.
  10. Is this potential rotation in a shower out to sea, by looking at the radar?
  11. Some impressive mushroom cloud looking convection late evening yesterday, even better with he moon above it. Shame we didn't get a thunderstorm but this was definitely was the next best thing to see and watch .
  12. Been looking around, this has been the best so far lol, and I have headphones it for a better effects for the loud thunder lol. (Might not be the best idea though lol)
  13. Ohhh wow, did you see that strike just take the power out in the street ?
  14. Nice clear slot right over the West Midlands Conurbation and surrounding areas, but not to worry, a nice convective line is approaching .
  15. Yep, also maybe getting some goods by the looks of the radar if it continues developing here in the Midlands
  16. Some of the skies/clouds around here today look eerily similar too the skies in the late morning/early afternoon before big storms in the US Plains.
  17. Where is the actual Cold Front currently, I'm confused looking at the radar?
  18. Yes, looking quite convective here in Walsall, some dark bases and some pretty large Cumulus about.
  19. Yeah exactly, its happened quite a few times, so we are still in with a chance, but like you said just not as much.
  20. Remember BFTE last year the main area with the biggest totals were over Somerset but the precipitation drifted more north than expected and the Midlands got a lot more than what anyone expected and caught most of us by surprised.
  21. How is Matt going to get snow if we don't in Central Midlands, it got to cross us before it gets to Matt.
  22. Didn't Tuesdays system end up further north than what any model/chart showed?
