  1. Boiler dripping, pipes full of ice, had to pour hot water over the pipe in the blizzard, not nice at all, it is truly epic out there though, so worth the wait this week Grass pretty much covered now
  2. Yeah they have big time :D, the precipitation is far more east than first though, that will help more of us get the heavier stuff and even if it starts to move westwards, we should still catch some heavy snow later
  3. That gap seems to be getting smaller though, just been in the gap, but now more moderate snow pushing back in
  4. Just the tops of the grass left now, I'm 90% sure that will be covered tonight at least, if not then tomorrow especially with the West Midlands now looking likely to be hit harder than first thought . I haven't checked any model since yesterday and kept radar watching and it was much better and seems to be working in our favour, I had a sneaky suspicion just like a 'couple' of others that we would be more in the game than apps, forecasts and some models suggested. Think BBC has updated their forecast and showing most of us in the Midlands staying in the snow till at least 11pm - midnight tonight before it moves away westwards.
  5. On the radar the current snow looks light, but its moderate with heavy bursts at times
  6. Not completely, some heavier pulses have developed in the front
  7. I don't know about other but this systems gonna hit the MIdlands and ive been watching it for a while and it seems to be intensifying as it moves north
  8. Now a better covering than this morning here now, and still coming down heavy
  9. Not settling again though Edit - Settled easy and have another dusting now and still snowing heavily
  10. Snow hasn't stopped yet since the early hours, it has slowed to where it almost stopped but never completely, had a heavier burst for a few second about 30 mins ago with large flakes, but woke up to a nice dusting on all surfaces
  11. This is looking quite a big area of snow, bigger than I expected, I know some of its light but there is some heavy stuff in the too.
  12. haha yep been exactly like that, even the run up watching the models too
  13. Once we get a decent cover even a few CM's, it should stick around without any visible thawing. Also breeze has picked up, wonder if that will help any heavier showers today
  14. hahaha yeah also on the 24 hour chart there seems to be a lot of light snow that may go further south and east to cover more of the Midlands as its cant just die out into hardly anything that quick, also obviously there still will be some adjustments too, probably will even come down to radar watching at the time anyway as most unpredictable and rare events do .
  15. Found it finally lol, like others have said don't worry if the snow goes too far North, as we will have plenty of snow showers behind, if in reality the snow goes through the central Midlands then its a bonus But still only using this and other charts as a rough idea.
  16. Lets just face it no body or no model know what exactly is going to happen tomorrow, I'm just using it as an idea, but leaving the detail to radar watching and through the window watching
  17. haha, imagine if that was dry snow, that would equal to around 1 metre of it
  18. No that's impossible, anything that falls from the sky from now until at least Friday will be snow, after that is still open to question.
  19. Does anyone know if the winds are forecast to pick up during the day, to make some of the heavier showers move further towards us?
  20. Thank you Looking quite good for us from later onwards. Plus a very light dusting here now
  21. First few flakes now Hope the heavier showers will start to make their way over when the breeze picks up a little.
