    Obviously the detail has still yet to be worked out but my god, what an abundance of snow and severe cold, I reckon there could be well over a foot in some places over the next few weeks, penetrating frosts, ice days, severe wind chill and possible huge snow drifts as the winds aren't too light either, wow, like many here Im nearly speechless, if these words don't make sense you know why, just WOW!!

    You'll probably be saying that on every run from now on haha, every run is exceptionally cold next week and some make it even colder.

    This is the event I meant on Sunday night into the early hours of Monday, it gave a light covering from light flurries coming from the East. As for the upcoming cold spell, WOW!!!

    @WalsallWeather123 just the other week we saw a very short easterly and it brought a lot of snow flurries mostly light but it still left a covering in the Central Midlands, even the winds wasn't too strong either.

    Is it a coincidence? Is it a sign? In January 2013 during the cold spell and on the day of the heavy snow, I think it was Nottinghamshire had a small earthquake which measured only 2.9, hmmm?? On another note anyone remember the Dudley earthquake in 2002, which measured I think 4.7 or 4.8 on the R. Scale??

    It was, clearly remember that spell, and same but that was the spell that really got me into the big cold spells, ever since that one I have been searching none stop for big freezes again as sure the majority on this forum is too haha, but atleast we had 2010 and 2013 as well as 2012 to some degree after 2009 too :).

    Thanks @weirpig Even that looking very marginal. Getting no hopes up, but just gonna check forecast in the morning and see what falls, if it snows then we will get another nice surprise .

    Hopefully it will be snow, it can be a good thing that they don't say anything and yeah like others have said let see if they see anything as the days progresses

    I think the BBC are very unsure about the Midlands for tomorrow, as I have not heard them mention Midlands yet, all I have heard, is North England snow, and south sleet or rain, but no mention of us, correct me if I'm wrong or anyone has heard mention of the Midlands on BBC??

    There was really heavy snow with massive flakes about 10 mins ago with what looked like gale force gusts, that was the best shower of the day, covered everywhere, gave 2cm from that alone, was madness

    We need a shower like we had earlier as I'm sure it would settle everywhere as the temperature has dropped a few more degrees, some more to the NW lets see how the evening pans out, time for the lamppost watching now lol

    Some new heavy showers are forming just off shore North Wales and pushing inland so still some hope

    Yep looking good now, looks like we will have a gap soon but that is good aswel as now the suns down it will make the temps drop quicker so if anymore snow comes later, it will settle even easier

    Heaviest shower today, looks some even heavier ones coming, hopefully will start to settle soon Looking seriously dark to the Northwest

    Certainly looks that way, made it even worse the past few minutes by a shower that wasn't even completely snow just pellets lol, but maybe the new streamer in North Wales setting up can bring us something later, not getting hopes up too high though.

    Nothing here yet but can see shower clouds in the distance but radar says they are not heading this way just yet but looking to Wales for more shower hopefully heading this way. EDIT - Snow shower just a few miles from us now, come from nowhere it seems.

    Was the same here in Walsall, but as soon as it started to setlle it stopped, now the sun is making an appearance, more looking NW on the radar though

    Yep, came down pretty good for a time earlier around Bloxwich/Leamore area, some flakes were huge too.

    Actually had a covering on all surfaces with some quite heavy falls of snow, and all this is before the main front comes along, pleasantly surprise. BTW, still snowing pretty large flakes as I'm writing this
