    Well its either inversion cold or pretty deep cold (850s) with temps only around 2degrees in the day and quite a significant cluster sub zero at night, i'm leaning towards a high just to our north..

    That's just actually beautiful - Most likely heavy snow showers swinging in from the NE - and quite a prolonged cold spell, infact i can hand on heart say i would sacrifice the rest of winter for that chart come off like that..we'd be looking at a good 5 days minimum of a freeze, for the 1st week of December on the back of a cold anticyclonic 2nd half of Nov would be one for Kevins archives..

    Nice post, I would imagine with those daytime temps we will be nearing zero at night under any clear skies..

    Beautiful EC Just look at the blocking highs across the GIN corridor - Cold is coming next week- how wonderful with all the christmas lights and christmas markets opening ..very festive charts!!

    Yes quite a lot of divergence Blue, although most roads lead to a cold outcome, be that 'surface' cold or '850' cold..

    As i suspected GFS 12Z bringing in some very cold surface conditions late Nov with temps well into low single figures and close to freezing or below at night.. Perfect way to end the month..

    Beautiful GFS 12z with blocking galore across Scandy/Iceland/Greenland! If thats a move to EC then i will take it gladly

    Agreed Blue, any thoughts on UKMO? I would suggest it will not follow this mornings EC ..

    UKMO looks absolutely fine to me !!

    Of course i can only speak for myself But yes, sceuro would potentially be inversion cold which at the time of year could be freezing, (short days etc).

    A sceuro high would actually potentially bring some very cold surface conditions in late November.. Likely not the low 850s but i would be delighted with a sceuro high personally ..

    Yes me too, have to say though in my experience, EC usually, not always, but usually, comes out on top...
