  1. Sorry BB, no can do - you need visit the Seasonal Forecast Thread for that kind of clairvoyance!
  2. Still seeing some fantastic lightning! Goodness me, BB - that's two accurate forecasts in one day: not only did I tell my grandson to watch out for evening T&L, I told you guys to look for a double rainbow...If only it worked with snow, I'd be quids in!
  3. T&L now moved away to the east...looks like a cold front to me? BTW, I've neither seen any C-Gs nor heard any shotgun thunder; it seems as if all the lightning is C-C? PS: Yet another flash!
  4. Get ready, all you peeps in Lowestoft - a beautiful double rainbow could be heading in your direction... And the lightning, of course...
  5. Plenty of T&L around here, just now...It's been the best season for years - 10+++!
  6. Same here, BB...The ToD doesn't really show its hand until snow is in the forecast - then it really comes into its own!
  7. That's true aj, but so could large areas of 35C+ SSTs (which, I suspect, have also occurred in the past) be a cause?
  8. Crikey, that's 2 hurricanes already, and, possibly, a 3rd on the way...From my, not very great, understanding of chaos theory (pendulums and magnets) the models will have a nightmare forecasting the paths and velocities of all three simultaneously?
  9. And to put things into a wee bit of perspective - what was the maximum sustained wind speed, during the 1987 so-called 'hurricane'? c. 65 mph?
  10. Make you think, eh? The Atlantic storm that sunk the Braer (1993?) had a central pressure of 916!
  11. The tenor of this thread has (quite rightly) changed, during the past couple of days: what was 'oh, what a lovely hurricane!' has changed into 'oh, bloody hell, the world's facing yet another natural disaster!'...With each passing hour, the potential scale of tragedy is rising!
  12. It certainly can be, Mushy...As I've said before, the weather knows nothing of human definitions?
  13. Morning peeps. Some good looking Cbs out in the North Sea, but nothing inland; so I'm guessing that SSTs, in the Southern North Sea, are higher than usual...? Good potential for the first Autumn northerly, perhaps?
