    Even the Five-Live forecaster mentioned the possibility of 35C, on Wednesday; LBC went one better with 36! On the subject of undercooking, could all the models have been misled by the cool Atlantic SSTs?

    I'd guess that it's something of both, HP. Whilst we can't do anything about the 'naturals', we can do our best to limit our own contribution; however large or small that contribution is??

    And, as GW rightly pointed out: according to AGW theory (as when I first encountered it in 1973) a minority of glaciers would continue to advance...Warmer air = more moisture = more precipitation??

    I, for one, cannot entirely get to grips with the anomalies: if, on any particular day, there's a transient Greenland HP, will that day's anomalies be smeared-out into an overall mean? If that is so it might explain how some HPs, though they appear on individual charts, do not appear to be reflected in the anomaly predictions...?

    Unless winds get quite fresh, from the southwest or west, we usually get a lovely on-shore breeze after about 11 am; often evening temps shoot up temporarily as the breeze dies down...Personally, I'd be more than happy to not see 33C. That said, Norwich will have its own sea-breeze characteristics.
