Just heard a nice deep ruble here in Suffolk. Guessing it's the one over Ipswich at the moment.
Yee Ha! I have hope!
It is getting black away to the SSE!
-
Damn! I thought I heard thunder but it was a bloody Ryanair jet!!!!
Better than a Suzuki!

Some strong radar returns coming from east anglia but no Sferics being shown
It's getting quite black, down to our south and south-east...Hope springs eternal?

The sky looks threatening near the Oval.
We can only hope!

My first post, so hi all! Thanks for keeping me entertained all day at work with your frustrated humour! It's clouding over here in Dereham, Norfolk with ominous looking skies to the south. Here's hoping......
Welcome to the forum, Pighwhocouldfly...I agree with what you are seeing; it's the same over here. Can you put 'Dereham' in your profile, please?
-
Noticed over Norfolk and Suffolk there's been some rapid development just off the coast!
And not just 'off the coast' either. I am keeping my eyes on it!
-
hi , yes i meant northeasterly, but im reading the hight anomaly like a synoptic so im probably wrong! lol
I tend to do that, too, Mushy!

Gutted
Rather it hadn't rained at at all as we have the Airshow tomorrow. Looks like a 'soggy bum' picnic watching the planes!
Blimey, scrat! I went there in 1973. That was an utter washout...The Red Arrows were canceled, and I couldn't see the French lot!
And, on the way back, I asked a Scotsman 'Who won the match'. I'll not repeat his reply, other than Scotland didn't!

Ah but Pete, you must remember though that everyone's a professional these days and that must mean the UKMO could potentially recruit another 400 to 500 forum users from today's online activity alone. They are a fortunate government organisation aren't they, please form an orderly queue behind me if you wish to join their ranks.
Much of what is said above is posted with a large degree of sarcasm.
Cheers
gottolovethisweather - the weather god
And,as you say that, there are towers going-up here too. Buggers!

Real let down...
No storm. It has passed
Sheet! No point in blowing it up this way, then?

right. lots of meto bashing in here. i didnt see the forecast which said "epic thunderstorms for everyone-guaranteed!"
i did however, see the words "isolated" "scattered" "uncertainty" "may develop" "risk of" "potential" "very localised" "rain" "torrential downpours" "afternoon" "until midnight"
and hey, guess what? thats whats happening!.....
(and 2 rumbles near me just now)
I know what you mean, BB.

The South East might witness a 'Flash Mob' (Pun intended)
A mob of flashers?

if im reading this right, the upper high shifts from the southwest up to our northeast, giving us a warm northeasterly feed? i do remember sometime in the mid 80's a northeasterly, beautiful clear blue sky, cooling breeze and 28c. maybe this would repeat that?
I'm not sure exactly how to read that either, Mushy. How does one convert anomalies into synoptic charts? But it does look promising...I think!
-
A bit of a shame that the South West has missed out today. Oh well, bring on another day!
I think we all have, William. Reminiscent of 2011?
-
Bugger! It was a Kawasaki firing-up!
It wasn't El Floppio that's for certain.

New cells popping up east of the main one south of Kent now. Things look good in Kent in the next hour, and those new cells, if they continue to build, will make things exciting for Essex and eventually Suffolk and Norfolk later
We hope, SB.
