It was too warm. All I did was listen to Johnny Cash.

It's been awful here, K; mist, murk and more mist.

That reminds me, Mike: how does one use the multiquote function?

Although it's fair to say that the science is all-but settled, the same cannot be said about the rhetoric?

I have followed the met in the past and they are generally poor beyond a week, this has been the best place for picking up trends, remember last July's heat wave, it was picked up here first !
Not to mention all those upcoming snow-events, heatwaves and dartboard lows that are 'picked up here first', but almost always fail to materialize?

There are a number of letters in the Times today on this subject.
We need open discussion on climate change
Frankly they all display a woeful ignorance on the subject. I'm reminded of the letter some wag wrote whilst the Battle of Britain raged complaining of the shortage of Lychees in London.
Just one example before I consign the page to the bin.
Sir, In seeking to gag climate change sceptics, the chairman of the Commons Science and Technology Committee is inviting ridicule.
Since when have arguments been won by stifling debate? To attack the BBC for airing Lord Lawson’s view is crass. The BBC is a routine proselytiser for the “warmists†and largely ignores those who question its orthodoxy. Perhaps Mr Miller has difficulty explaining why global temperatures have not shifted in the past 16 years while CO2 levels have rocketed, and why near-record levels of ice persist in the Antarctic.
Let’s have answers, not gags.

There's an old adage, knocker: if you've nothing worth saying, it's best you don't bother...If only the likes of 'Lord' Monckton could understand?

Not so pleasant here in the Triangle, though...

March confirmed as 7.6C (7.63, down from 7.65), the 18th mildest on record and 1.0C above the 81-10 average.

Congrats to Summer Blizzard and Kentish Man, who both got it spot on
That makes the first 3 months of the year, the joint 8th mildest on record
0.1C out. Just when I could have done with a downward adjustment!

Not a single flake, here. I think that's the first time I can ever remember.

A slightly warm 9.5C, please.

Just the kind of blinkered data-extraction that subtracts meaning from what was already meaningless - if that's possible?

At least the good news stories (such as this) can now be told without the need to allow that obnoxious organization being called FOREST to add its two pennyworth!

Am being naughty and squirreling my way in while at work.... 3.5oC this morning at 6.40am, cloudy and damp. More like a Novemember morning I thought. Then drove past all the beautiful magnolia blossom in WGC centre and felt smugly relieved that we don't have to go through the whole of December, Jan and Feb to reach the Spring. Imagine my surprised humility on looking up at my garret office window, a few minutes ago, to sideways heavy snow...! Ah well, looks like winter really is just starting then...
And let's all hope is disappears again, just as fast?
