Yep, that looks like it for today. The chance was low admittedly, but that doesn't mean one can't hope! Still waiting for my first proper storm of 2017 (although that single ic flash and two rumbles last week was still fun).
Still more than what we've had here!

This afternoon there's been some lovely cloud formations here, including Undulatus Asperatus and what may have been Mammatus, but with it has just been nothing more than the occasional shower.
-
Well despite the excitement of the past couple of days for some, I remain a member of the No Storms Club 2017 for now

I'd guess that it's a bit foggy out there tonight. The horns out in the Thames properly going for it, and I live a good 3-4 miles away!
-
Had a band of heavy rain pass through about 3 hours ago. There was still some towers and anvils dotted around after that had passed, but now it's all fizzled to nothing.
-
Shower number 4 underway
-
Heavy hail shower now, but still no thunder
-
2nd quick but pretty heavy shower now, no thunder or hail though
-
Very dark to the West. I'd say rain isn't far off

That's annoying, I thought (and hoped!) they'd be moving East. But, it's only March, still got all of summer yet!
-
Seeing some new strikes showing up around Portsmouth way now. Pretty active down on that South Coast tonight!
The app that I am using is also showing a strike near Southend Airport, but I am 99.9% sure that is a false return
Edit: Actually, I'm not sure it is a false return, someone on Twitter reporting thunder in Southend. Probably just out of earshot for me though

I was right, some heavy rain and hail here. Saw what could have been a flash, but had the TV on so may have just been a reflection in the window, didn't hear anything

That passed through here it did go very ominous, some good type of weather for once, slushy deposits , I heard a mumble of thunder. And yep 2016 was absolutely dire.
Think that's about to hit me, pitch black to the West!

Been drizzling all morning here, currently 3.6C. The very last of the snow and ice is still hanging on in the garden, but all in all it's not pleasant out there
-
Sunny and cold now. No precipitation of any form that I am aware of today. Still got some of Thursday evening's snow on the grass, which is slowly melting

News coming through now that the seawall at Jaywick has not been breached, however because water is touching the wall, an assessment will be carried out before deciding when residents can return home
-
Just seen a report from Great Yarmouth that water is right up to the Promenade and still rising. The entire beach is flooded.

Any news on Jaywick? My sisters mother in law was collected earlier today and bought back to chelmsford but her bungalow is about 500 yards from the sea wall
The highest waters are due to be around 00:15 tonight, that's all the info I can really give I'm afraid!

That page is legendary in these parts!
Indeed, always raises a laugh!

Stay safe everyone on the coast!

Latest guidance from the met office is that we can expect a little bit more snow here between 9-11am.
All the best to those affected by flooding, both locally and countrywide, hope you aren't affected too badly and nothing is damaged
-
Moon now visible here. Starting to clear, should think it will start to freeze soon
Edit: Just seen the post above about Southend Seafront. Yikes!
-
Anyone get/know of any thundersnow?
-
Snow starting to ease now, and I must say I'm surprised that it's dripping, I thought it would hang around overnight

Some high level Mackerel clouds apperearing here now, and also what may be a tower or two far off in the West towards London, but it's very hazy so hard to tell for sure.
