Nice little cell this one. Reasonably frequent rumbles
-
Nice IC fork to the SW just then
-
Three long rumbles of thunder from almost nowhere! No lightning seen yet though
-
I don't believe it was thunder, unless the strike was not picked up. Pitch black to the West though
-
That might have been a rumble just then....
-
Thames Estuary storm shield in action this morning I feel
-
New sferics showing up around the Northern section of the M25 now. All kicking off around London!
I think the wind here is Southerly, meaning that SE London cell will miss me
-
Very slow moving this cell. Keeping my ears peeled but it's still too far away as of right now
-
Nearest strike now 21.2 miles away, so slowly getting closer. Haven't seen a morning storm in a while
-
Very bright echoes around the Orpington area, and I do believe it's heading this way!
-
Yes I've got visual of that too. Put out quite a few strikes over SE London by the looks of it
-
Little line of rain over Sussex and SW London sort of area that looks like it might be heading this way. Doesn't seem electrified though.
Spoke too soon. Sferics SW of Tunbridge Wells!
-
Well, I really must turn in now, despite the nature of that storm. Enjoy it while it lasts, everyone. Same time, same channel tomorrow?

Strike showing up near Ringwood. Somehow don't think that's real.
No, there's false returns showing up all over the South Coast, though you are in a far better position to verify it than me!
-
Constant lightning on the Looe webcam now!
-
Really need to get some sleep, but this is fascinating. Having said that, there is a *chance* that I may see something similar in the late afternoon/evening. We shall see. But that Cornwall storm is insane!
-
Sferic East of the Isle of Wight? False return?
-
There also appears to be another cell slowly making its way up Biscay too. It's not the strongest though, so not sure how far it will get
-
I don't pretend to be a professional in any way shape or form, but I normally have a rough idea of what's going to happen when there is potential like this. Tomorrow I have absolutely no clue how it's going to work, but hey, that makes it more exciting right?
-
Really could personally do with storms holding off until the evening, as I'm in London tomorrow. That said, I wouldn't mind a light show on the train home at about 19:00, which actually is a real possibility,

Think a lot of nowcasting will need to be done over these next few days. Netweather now saying 0% chance of storms until Monday, when there is a 62% chance. Only yesterday it was saying 72% for Saturday. We shall see...

Well hopefully anything that does happen Saturday happens in the evening, off to Twickenham for the Aviva Premiership final in the afternoon

Back of the cloud passing overhead now. Very nice little storm to start the day, with some good thunder.
