  1. I want a good winter just as much as you do. But don't give up so easily. Remember that even the most experienced weather forecaster cannot accurately predict the weather any more than a couple of days in advance. As far as autumn itself goes, it has been very monotonous indeed but that doesn't necessarily mean that winter will end up being the same way. I must admit, I am not holding my breath but nobody knows how winter will pan out. Anything could happen. We shall have to wait and see. I can remember back in the spring of 2013 I thought we were heading for a poor summer. Yet look at how that turned out.
  2. Apart from the odd day here and there, I think that this autumn as a whole has been one of the most (if not the most) monotonous during my lifetime due to its lack of any interesting weather as well as a lack of temperature differences between day and night. With the exception of a couple of times, I can't recall any particularly cold nights and it looks as if it's going to be the same for the next 7 or so days. Here's hoping that the last week of November and especially December will be much better. A decent winter would be great. I shall be staying tuned in this thread as well as the models one!
  3. Yes, one good thing about this monotonous mildness is that it does make it easier to save money on your heating bill. I still hope we get something more akin to November soon though.
  4. I normally love autumn, but this is turning out to be the most boring one in my lifetime.
  5. I have a feeling that we are in for a fairly boring November. Yet another milder than average month.. yawn.
  6. Looking forward to cooler conditions from tomorrow onwards. We are in November after all.
  7. Was forecast to be peeing down with rain today, but all we've had was a light shower or two this morning. Still, there's 8 hours of the day left to go.
  8. I would say that the rainfall for this month (in my neck of the woods anyway) has been fairly close to average. It probably only feels like it's been a particularly wet month because we haven't really had many noticeably wet days since February. Spring was remarkably dry, summer was dry most of the time, and September was rather dry.
  9. Afternoon everyone. I was wondering what weather app you all use. I am tired and frustrated of InaccuWeather (which used to be reliable as far as weather forecasts go) getting it wrong all the time. I am now at the point of deleting it and forgetting about it. Thank you, all.
  10. Roll on the cold and crisp sunny days, which hopefully aren't too far away.
  11. Apart from at the beginning, this is shaping up to be a pretty bland month. Temperatures have been around the same throughout, no particularly noticeable cold nights and a lack of stormy weather. It is forecast to get interesting later on today, but the month as a whole has been fairly boring if you are a weather enthusiast. Still, I have high hopes for winter 2020/21.
  12. I was expecting some heavy downpours today, but instead the rain was relatively light. At least in my neck of the woods anyway.
  13. I really do hope so. Most likely though, the models will change and we will end up getting boring high pressure instead. Still, we shall have to wait and see!
  14. Weather conditions at 16:26 Dry and calm. Anticyclonic gloom conditions which is always a little boring. Current temp: 11° Humidity: 76% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 7° SSW wind at 5.8 mph Air pressure: 1022 mb
  15. Nothing really going on at the moment - been fairly boring over the last couple of days.
  16. A decent enough October so far; fairly changeable which is what I like as it keeps things interesting. I enjoy the gradual decrease in temperature as we approach winter and am really looking forward to the first proper cold spell of the season. Fairly mild at the moment, but as autumn progresses those mild temperatures will slip away into single figures.
  17. Autumn is well and truly underway now, which I am happy about seeing as it is my favourite season. I just hope that if we do get prolonged high pressure at any time, it won't keep ending up being that anticyclonic gloom rubbish. Some cool, crisp and frosty sunny days would be wonderful during autumn and winter.
  18. I have had the heating on during the middle of summer before. I can recall having it on at some point during the summer of 2012. Very rare I have it on during the summer though.
  19. We have certainly gone from one extreme to the other. From above average temperatures to below average temperatures and hardly any (if at all) average temperatures. It was the same concept during the summer - it was either cool for the time of year or it was blazing hot; no in-between.
  20. Whilst I have enjoyed the summer, I am quite frankly getting bored of warm weather now and feel that it's now time for something more active and akin to autumn. I don't want unseasonably warm weather during October just like I don't want unseasonably cold weather during April. I do feel that it's time to say goodbye to warm weather now until next spring.
