  1. Afternoon everyone. I was wondering what weather app you all use. I am tired and frustrated of InaccuWeather (which used to be reliable as far as weather forecasts go) getting it wrong all the time. I am now at the point of deleting it and forgetting about it. Thank you, all.
  2. Roll on the cold and crisp sunny days, which hopefully aren't too far away.
  3. Apart from at the beginning, this is shaping up to be a pretty bland month. Temperatures have been around the same throughout, no particularly noticeable cold nights and a lack of stormy weather. It is forecast to get interesting later on today, but the month as a whole has been fairly boring if you are a weather enthusiast. Still, I have high hopes for winter 2020/21.
  4. I was expecting some heavy downpours today, but instead the rain was relatively light. At least in my neck of the woods anyway.
  5. I really do hope so. Most likely though, the models will change and we will end up getting boring high pressure instead. Still, we shall have to wait and see!
  6. Weather conditions at 16:26 Dry and calm. Anticyclonic gloom conditions which is always a little boring. Current temp: 11° Humidity: 76% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 7° SSW wind at 5.8 mph Air pressure: 1022 mb
  7. Nothing really going on at the moment - been fairly boring over the last couple of days.
  8. A decent enough October so far; fairly changeable which is what I like as it keeps things interesting. I enjoy the gradual decrease in temperature as we approach winter and am really looking forward to the first proper cold spell of the season. Fairly mild at the moment, but as autumn progresses those mild temperatures will slip away into single figures.
  9. Autumn is well and truly underway now, which I am happy about seeing as it is my favourite season. I just hope that if we do get prolonged high pressure at any time, it won't keep ending up being that anticyclonic gloom rubbish. Some cool, crisp and frosty sunny days would be wonderful during autumn and winter.
  10. I have had the heating on during the middle of summer before. I can recall having it on at some point during the summer of 2012. Very rare I have it on during the summer though.
  11. We have certainly gone from one extreme to the other. From above average temperatures to below average temperatures and hardly any (if at all) average temperatures. It was the same concept during the summer - it was either cool for the time of year or it was blazing hot; no in-between.
  12. Whilst I have enjoyed the summer, I am quite frankly getting bored of warm weather now and feel that it's now time for something more active and akin to autumn. I don't want unseasonably warm weather during October just like I don't want unseasonably cold weather during April. I do feel that it's time to say goodbye to warm weather now until next spring.
  13. Weather conditions at 06:10am Dry, calm and mild start to the day Current temp: 11° Humidity: 100% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 11° S wind at 3.5 mph Air pressure: 1011 mb
  14. Weather conditions at 18:39 Pleasantly warm, sunny and calm Current temp: 22° Humidity: 60% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 14° SW wind at 5.8 mph Air pressure: 1015 mb
  15. Weather conditions at 03:22 Dry, clear and calm. Current temp: 10° Humidity: 93% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 9° NNW wind at 3.5 mph Air pressure: 1020 mb
  16. Weather conditions at 15:25 Another fine day. Hardly any breeze now. Current temp: 19° Humidity: 59% UV Index: 2 Dew Point: 11° NE wind at 11.5 mph Air pressure: 1020 mb
  17. Weather conditions at 03:06am Cloudy with a light cool breeze. Current temp: 13° Humidity: 81% UV Index: 0 Dew Point: 10° NE wind at 10.4 mph Air pressure: 1021 mb
  18. My sympathies. I had sunburn all along my forearms and over my face during that hot spell at the end of July. Very sore it was and I was as red as a lobster. I am wearing sunscreen from now on as I don't want to risk that happening again.
  19. Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I don't at all mind this weather (in Spring and summer), but autumn is definitely overdue now and needs to get its skates on. I am not really much of a fan of this type of weather during mid to late September just like I am not a fan of cold wintry weather during mid to late March. Thankfully, the weather will finally be turning more autumnal from around Wednesday (or maybe even Tuesday) onwards.
  20. I have a feeling that we are in for an anticyclonic dominated month. Whilst it does cool down a little at the end of the week, temperatures will still be above average and it's looking fairly dry in some places. Even though it's early days, I hope we do get a proper autumn this year. As opposed to going straight from summer and into winter.
  21. I agree. Whilst I have enjoyed the hot spells (as well as the thunderstorms) we have had during the summer, I am more than ready for something more autumnal now since we are in the middle of September. I feel the same way from the middle of March whenever winter begins to outstay its welcome. I hope we do have a decent autumn this year though. And none of that anticyclonic gloom rubbish.
  22. I know that we are only in early autumn, but I do hope proper autumnal weather will begin to take hold shortly. And I mean proper weather though, not like that boring rubbish we had in July (which was supposed to be high summer anyway). Whilst I don't at all mind heatwaves, seeing as we are now in September I hope that will be the last bout of warm weather until next spring (just like I expect more springlike weather to begin taking hold from mid March). Roll on that first frost and the cool misty and sunny mornings.
  23. Even though it is still early days, I have a strong feeling that this is going to be a fairly high pressure dominated month, very similar to September 2014. If that's the case then we will likely see our first air frost of the season later on in the month. Possibly ground frost up Scotland.
