  1. No disrespect to Marco but he has been saying about the SSW possibly causing cold air into the uk etc when it first started and it didnt work out like that so i will take this tweet as a pinch of salt....no idea comes to mind
  2. Not if you are in an area which is already saturated....that will lead to a lot of flooding for areas that have already had a battering over the christmas period and beyond.
  3. Looking like a poor run so far from ECM, higher heights over Iberia and less ridging into Greenland. Edit - spoke too soon better at 96 hrs
  4. Much better output this evening and hope the ECM keeps the trend going. This COULD turn into a very snowy period for parts of the UK and if the pattern can drop a little further south the whole of the UK (including the South) could see some significant snow over the next week to 10 days.
  5. Could have had an extra hour in bed still waiting to see what falls after about 3 flakes falling earlier
  6. Can we stop with the automated weather apps they are rubbish whether looking good or bad its radar watching now.
  7. I got a 1 year old to who normally wakes at 6 so i will be up at 4am to get hopefully 2 hours before i need to do breakfast
  8. It wont stall but will slow....well if it doesnt it will clear the east coast by midnight
  9. The front will slow some what as it hits the colder air to the east
  10. Yep i am a DFCO and had loads of flood alerts come through today and really shocked there have been no weather warnings for today. I hope there is for saturday as those alerts could turn to warnings and Bedford has had an awful time of it lately as has other areas.
  11. Its not just about the ridge going into greenland it is how the low pressure circulates around that and that lower pressure is moving east to west into the atlantic and thats where the problem lays
  12. Totally agree mate i am just going on trends and those trends arnt great if you want sustained cold in the UK
  13. I never put my head on the chopping board but remember this date and what the charts are showing! I am so confident that ne USA will be in a bitterly cold pattern in the next 10 days and most the UK will be bathed in average temperarures due to a west based negative NAO at best i will run down my garding chanting to pepper pig naked. We need to face facts that the possible cold period from the 20th has now been pushed back significantly if at all! Also as stated by many other members the heights over iberia are preventing cold uppers to flood south to effect most the UK unless you live up a hill firther north
  14. Just glad im moving to lincolnshire in a cpuple of weeks... mifht give me a bit of a chance
  15. Thats optimistic mate wouldnt call it wet snow at all unless you are in a different part of Stevenage?
