  1. This wet spell is just never ending. The past 4 months were all extremely wet, and October is heading the same way. These are the outlooks for my walk on Sunday and running on Monday
  2. More rain incoming this evening. Some further rain tomorrow, Saturday night into Sunday and again on Monday.
  3. Yeah. I was at university at the time. I was heading out to a friend's house and decided to watch the BBC weather forecast who said there would be 'A bit of sleetiness over the hills'. Then it snowed quite heavily all night. Yet 17 miles away in Harrow, where I'm from, there was nothing.
  4. Saw 6 inches of snow in Hatfield, Hertordshire at the end of October 2008, so snow is certainly possible up here in October.
  5. June, July, August and September were all abysmal here. 4 truly awful months of unrelenting rain. I've never seen so much rain in my life! Tomorrow's sunshine and dry weather is desperately needed.
  6. Followed by yet another disgusting day. Roll on tomorrow’s sunshine which will feel like absolute bliss. Desperate for dry weather.
  7. Yet another month that will likely come up in far wetter than average. That despite the first half of the month being fairly dry. Makes me laugh that some claim one of the wettest summers on record wasn’t that bad.
  8. Another day of showers but the outlook isn’t too bad.
  9. Another day of showers but the outlook isn’t too bad.
  10. I walk everywhere and got wet every day for the first 3 weeks of June. We had showers first thing this morning and then an absolutely torrential downpour around 10am. I got soaked right through. I’ve only lived up here for 3 years and I’m more used to the drier climate of the South East but, even so, I think this summer has been awful.
  11. No idea on sunshine amounts but there have been very few dry days. The first dry day wasn’t until 21st of June and it has rained most days this month. i’ve had people telling me this summer hasn’t been that bad. I think they’re insane! I’d hate to see what they consider a bad summer! Absolutely torrential rain shower just now. Soaked right through.
  12. Unfortunately, my weather station is broken. The Met Office did though show that June had 200% of the long term average monthly rainfall and July 150%. They also showed that by the end of July this area had already had more rain than the long term summer average, with one more month of summer to go, and August so far has got to be wetter than average.
  13. It’s been a terrible summer. Never seen so much rain and grey skies.
  14. Sounds like you’re describing Stoke’s summer.
  15. Yet another atrocious day in this so called summer. Dark, cold and very wet.
  16. Yet more showers this evening. Euro4’s take on Wednesday’s system. Heaviest rain for the North Midlands once again.
  17. More showers this morning. Similar theme next week, but cooler. Wednesday looks particularly wet.
  18. I don’t have any figures for where I am as my station isn’t working. I just cannot ever remember seeing a summer as wet or miserable as this one, and the Met Office produced a graphic showing that Staffordshire and Derbyshire had already received more than the summer long term average by the end of July.
  19. Got to getting on to record breaking amounts of rain. It’s been an awful summer.
  20. I’d say here we’ve maybe had 2 weeks of actual summer like weather stretched out over the whole season. The bad weather has greatly outdone the good. Got to be getting on for record breaking amounts of rainfall. Now we have Autumn gales too boot.
  21. Does anyone know when summer starts? ?
  22. Absolutely hammering it down, and has been for hours.
