  1. And to the west of London. Areas like Northolt and Heathrow, which are often hot spots.
  2. I remember 2015 well. Temperatures rocketed incredibly quickly to break the July record and could well have continued on to beat the overall record but it suddenly clouded over and the temperature stopped rising.
  3. The Aperge clearly doesn’t see cloud as much detriment to the temperatures as it has the highest temperatures.
  4. Latest Aperge. 39'C looks more widespread than the last update to me. Might even be a 40'C in there.
  5. My guess isn’t on the list. Edit: Oh it is, but I put 38.1’C when I meant 39.1’C ?
  6. So long as posts regarding tomorrow's temperatures are in relation to the model output, I fail to see what the issue is. Do people honestly expect weather enthusiasts to not been excited about and want to discuss an historic event? If people do have a problem with it, they should report comments to the mods for review instead of writing comments that take the conversation more off topic. Latest ICON and GFS still showing 36'C and 35'C as the absolute maximums. Surely the higher resolution models will have a better handle on it though. The GFS certainly always has temperatures too low and the update to it seems to have made no difference. You'd think they'd have worked on that issue.
  7. I'd have thought that with winds coming from the continent and over the shortest sea track, the risk of cloud cover would be low so long as any fronts are held well at bay which they will be.
  8. 39'C to the west of London. Matches the Met Office written forecasts and their automated forecasts for Northolt and Heathrow. Even 40'C can't be ruled out. Truly extraordinary. It's going to be an historic day that will be talked about for many years to come.
  9. Intense lightning show over Stoke-on-Trent.
  10. UKMO has 37’C around the Wash, North London and North Kent on Thursday.
  11. 2'C higher than the GFS predicted temperatures for today, with the GFS predicting 36'C for Thursday.
  12. Met Office forecasting 38'C in Northolt (where I'm from) on Thursday. Never seen that on a UK forecast before.
  13. Met Office automated forecast for Northolt of 38'C on Thursday. Never seen that before in a UK forecast.
  14. 33-34'C here. The local all time record is 32.9'C.... Don't know a lot about that model but been told its held in high regard by the Met Office.
  15. UKMO looks similar to the Aperge in terms of the extent of low to mid 30's on Thursday. It has a maximum temperature of 38'C over North Kent.
  16. The Aperge is going for a good chance of the all time record going. It brings in 24’C uppers, resulting in a maximum surface temperature of 38’C!
  17. Indeed. Good for more of us to join in with the proper heatwave conditions. Not so great for those of us who like records and absolute extremes. Although I would still think that the July record at least could go as well as local records.Disappointed that the chances of the all time record being broken look to be reducing. Got to be only matter of time until it is beaten though, what with the warming climate.
  18. ICON maximum temperatures for Thursday. Low to mid thirties as far west as East Wales! Highest temperature I can see on there is 35'C.
