Storm Eleanor winding up now

Looks like a ferocious storm this whistling through.......... gusting up already here in Lowestoft and she hasn't arrived yet. Hurricane force gusts about to hit Ireland over next few hours

Heavy snow in Lowestoft.

Heavy snow in Lowestoft at sea level for the last hour. Now starting to stick. I suspect we are going to have a fair few hours of snow this evening and tonight here. And there was me thinking we'd escaped

Looks like the UK is heading into the freezer from Thursday PM with plenty of snow to-boot. If you like minus temperatures and snow with drifting in the strong winds then the end of next week is for you!!!!! BBBrrrrrrrrrrr

Bleak here in Lowestoft. Heavy snow still falling and all is white......no traffic out now.

Precipitation hasn't reached Norwich yet. Another hour or so and they will be getting heavy snow as showers move inland. Radar.

Here comes the next heavy snow shower, N/NW facing.

Winds veer to the north across EA over coming few hours, then to the NE from 15:00 this afternoon as the low drifts south. Temperature's will rise a degree or two here on the east coast of Norfolk and Suffolk, so most precipitation will turn back to rain and hail later this evenings. Inland will benefit from the NE winds later as this will push the showers inland. With temperature's lower here due to the lack of moisture from N.Sea and with night-time approaching I suspect areas around Thetford, Bury St. Edmunds and Newmarket to get a covering before midnight.

Had a heavy snow shower in Lowestoft 45 minutes ago. Radar says more on the way over next few hours. Big fat heavy snow flakes......

Pleased I've cancelled my red letter day air balloon ride across the Irish Sea on Monday. That would have been turbulent to say the least!

Had a good storm here in Lowestoft. Lots of CC lightning towards Southwold where the heaviest precipitation was. Caught this rainbow looking out to sea (Less than 1/2 mile from here).

Thunderstorm heading towards us in Lowestoft. Sferics just north of Diss at present.

Great Yarmouth in the firing line of this storm. Shame there isn't a webcam facing w n/w towards the approaching downpour.

Thanks Windblade. I could see the whole storm rotating, it was quite a sight. Normally I have to travel/chase miles to see something less impressive, so from my back garden was a right result! I was hoping for a funnel cloud but no such luck. Impressive cloud structures and turbulence nonetheless.
