lol! We are far from there, yet! Let's see how this plays out!

I have a bad memory for stuff like this, but I do remember late July and the early part of that august being hot and humid. Was one hell of a breakdown. lasted for at least 2 weeks if I remember.

Ecm day 10, 12z and 0z. Lets play darts! Which one will come off, pays your money, take your choice.

Ecm, king of the models. Brilliant stuff!

Whichever makes me suffer. Pretty simple really. In all seriousness though the way things are going there'll be a crisis in the hospitals with cases of heatstroke etc like in 2003.

Merely to illustrate the above point. Close but no cigar but then within 7 days many minor adjustments can be made (of course still warm and pleasant)

Could see 30c as far north as where I am based on current output. Whilst I am pleasantly surprised that the conditions we have no are not as bad as I feared, whats being modelled for the weekend is nothing short of horrific.

Not posted for awhile but according to the radar there should be a lively blossoming of heavy showers over my slate roof, but I think it's just slipped by heading west before firing off it's ammo.  Cloudy but dry at present.  A very nice settled spell of late and agree this weather it just about perfect.  Late May...temps in early 20's, with a refreshing breeze every now and again.

Best not look at the coming weekend and beyond then. The word vile comes to mind.

The outlook in terms of temps looks average at best, indeed cooler than average over next 2 days, then average or a little above by the weekend, but with cool night, and stubborn cloud might suppress them. The models are showing heights ridging quite far to the north, we are not tapping into a long drawn heat source, its coming from NW Russia and Scandi - low 20's realistically highest we can expect, but very good all the same - optimum temps in my book, not a fan when it goes above 25 degrees - but it rarely does in Cumbria anyway!

You're lucky to be far too north to get the worst of what I fear is on the way.

Doesn't look too bad to me, low to mid 20s at most, with coolish nights.

Ironically your neck of the woods will do better than where I am. I never welcome an easterly at any time of the year. Nights won't fall much below 14c either by the look of things. Will be more like 17c with all the heat from the day still lingering in the house.

Well it's only 15C outside but in the strong May sun it feels a good deal warmer than that. Not a bad Sunday afternoon.

It always feels warmer than that in the sun. Its why I don't like seeing higher than high teens being forecast. You can always add 2 or 3 degrees to that in terms of how it feels, hence the weather we got last weekend was borderline for me. 24c in that sun is more like 27c

Mick taking temps are becoming the norm in UK. Your better off migrating to Yakutsk in Russia if you don't like heat, although pretty much your cup of tea in winter but summers are generally chilled too around 15 to 20C.

as are mild winters but you wouldn't want me saying that now would you? Can't have it both ways if you're a "seasonalist" as most on here claim to be.

The local media are talking rubbish again with a heatwave on the cards! Absolute rubbish. But it does look mild/pleasantly warm for the forseeable with the exception being mid week as we get a temporary cool northwesterly.

Well if the weather stayed like it was today, then you'd get no complaints from me. High teen raw temps are where I draw the line though as in a strong sun, it will always feel like the low twenties. Sadly though the winds always veer into a bad direction at some point and the temps take the mick
