  1. Hmm, overcast and vaguely drizzly here, that's not going to result in much convection.
  2. A nice drenching from this. That will save me watering the garden tomorrow. Glad to have it, the weekend looks rather dry here now, though we are off to Bedfordshire Saturday so should get a dose of that. Temp has dropped to a mere 21C!
  3. Something's afoot, we just had a sort of rainless squall. After being mostly calm all day, the wind really picked up for a few seconds, very refreshing!
  4. Feels more pleasant here today, the humidity is a little lower and the breeze an little stronger. Beautiful sunshine, it's a shame I'm stuck inside working.
  5. You can't drop videos into a post like you can images. Upload it to YouTube and paste the link from there, to get it automatically embedded.
  6. Not sure I'd call this a breakdown Looks like a return to slightly above average temperatures, but mostly dry, which suggests good sunshine to me so warm and pleasant. OTOH, our friends in Beds have resurrected their annual BBQ after a year's hiatus. It always seems to be a case of dodging showers in the afternoon of the last Sat in July, or thunderstorms if I'm lucky (they wouldn't call it lucky). So that would be my prediction for the 24th: sunshine and showers.
  7. Certainly feels that way locally. Personal Weather Station Dashboard | Weather Underground WWW.WUNDERGROUND.COM Weather Underground provides local & long-range weather forecasts, weather reports, maps & tropical weather conditions for locations worldwide. shows <15mm rain this month, that's drier than April and a mere tenth of what January delivered.
  8. Aaaaand now South Manchester is forecast to be dry until Thursday (light shower 30% chance). Automated MetO forecast, hope it's wrong.
  9. No rain overnight means we're into our fourth dry week in a row. The climate really seems to have changed to alternating droughts and washouts.
  10. Well the light rain symbols that were showing for today have gone the other way, so I wouldn't count on it.
  11. TBH, I'd be happy with some decent rainfall. The soil is bone dry here after three weeks without measurable rain. My 4 waterbutts are all empty. Thunder would be a bonus (but not for my dog who gets more frightened of thunder (and fireworks) every year that goes by).
  12. Frustratingly light winds for sailing at Pennington Flash, but a good view of the developing storm near Huddersfield.
  13. Can't believe it's stayed dry here, the rain looks so close by appears to be pivoting about my house. Did alright yesterday too, went to West Kirby and walked out to Hilbre Island, got back to the car just as the rain started. Very windy though, coming straight down the Dee.
  14. Not often you'll see two independent rotating curls of precip over the UK.
  15. Dry here, but not for much longer I think. It's not often you see two independent rotating curls of precip over the UK.
  16. This is about right, think I'll be lighting the fire later.
  17. Dry at Pennington Flash, but dark clouds threatening all afternoon. Now thunder and CG strikes seen. Nothing detected on the various apps.
