  1. Just had a shower here, quite heavy. So much for a dry day. It was frosty earlier.
  2. A decent breeze here. The first band of rain blew through in ten minutes though, I was expecting a bit more. There's a second band on the radar, but it looks a little less intense.
  3. The world record for largest hail may have been broken in Tripoli, Libya yesterday. World's largest hail record may be challenged by exceptionally large 20+ cm (8 inches) hailstones hit the capital of Libya on Tuesday, Oct 27th WWW.SEVERE-WEATHER.EU A hail size of 8 inches (20 cm) would fit into the world's Top giant hailstone events, besides Vivian, US hailstorm, and a... The hail in this video sounds ominously like gunfire.
  4. Weather warnings extended to Saturday and Sunday too now. In the meantime, I think we have a problem...
  5. Showers more on than off this morning. I see we have a weather warning for Thursday/Friday, for... rain, of course. Shame it's half-term, the only available activities are outdoors.
  6. Hail earlier, not surprising when there are some of these around
  7. All the ways Hurricane Delta is a historic storm (It's a long list). https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/07/weather/historic-storm-hurricane-delta/index.html
  8. Thanks. It was the smooth rolls of cloud to the right that caught my eye, I only noticed the waves when I went up to the top floor for the photo
  9. Impressively persistent rain here all day, but nothing especially heavy. If say we've had 20mm or so in total.
  10. Thick fog here at 0700, proper 100m visibility. Cleared now and I think the sun is about to break through.
  11. We're getting a good view of the storm off Suffolk from Aldeburgh.
  12. I'm holidaying in Aldeburgh and this is the first morning it has actually felt hot on the coast. Currently 23 and very humid, dp just below 20. The wind has dropped for the first time in days.
  13. Light drizzle again here. And after a 48 hour window of improvement, next week looks overcast too.
  14. Similar here. Very wet on Monday but not much accumulation since then. It has been unremittingly overcast and distinctly chilly though. Personally I'd prefer heavy rain with sun in between
  15. It's a lot fresher here now the showers have passed, even though they missed us entirely. Only 20C now.
  16. This setup has delivered for Manchester in the past, but not until nightfall. This, last July: delivered an overnight storm. Storm in Manchester July 2019 - Manchester Evening News WWW.MANCHESTEREVENINGNEWS.CO.UK A storm struck Manchester in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, July 24. Today's chart is strikingly similar:
  17. I wouldn't call it a storm here this evening, but it is very pleasant listening to the rain pattering on the leaves while thunder rumbles gently in the distance.
