  1. Need to get through the next few days of whats looks like another load of rain before thinking about snow. Another flooded week on the horizon unfortunately
  2. Today has been a good day so far, cold, bright, sunny and a drying wind, rather it stays like this now than have snow, at least its usable weather and you can get out n about for walks, rather than gloomy, rainy, flood soaked yuk.
  3. Could have spoken too soon earlier, as it had turned back away from us on the coast, but now has turned back towards us again, go away rain.
  4. Well we got nothing here. halesworth suffolk to be precise and the band of rain/sleet/snow has turned back south westwards, cant say im disappointed, just want dry weather til spring now.
  5. Living only a few miles south west of GC, I can say, it is not snowing, nor raining, although the radar has us under light rain currently. The strong easterly is keeping it at bay at the moment.
  6. Dry, windy start here, definately feeling that easterly breeze, unfortunately looks like the rain is about to reach us, which we just dont want or need, the flood waters have receeded enough to be able to walk through with wellies on, any more rain and up they will rise again
  7. Flooded still here after yesterday mornings rain, so frankly Im happy to miss any more rain or snow hopefully tomorrow. I dont think its supposed to come this far east anyway. Today is sunny spells and temps up to 10c, moderate breeze.
  8. Oh the joys of germ phobia, my son has worn his mask religiously all day at college and a pair of wolly gloves all day, he believes that keeps him safe from touching any germs, cant quite make him understand that the gloves can pick up virus particules as easily as his hands. And of course road walking entails people passing, so the need to make sure he doesnt just walk straight into the road to avoid them, ignoring the fact the cars will do more damage than the person! Back to the weather, more heavy rain forecast for tonight so thats not going to improve the flood situation, Flood warnings been out since lunchtime for our areas rivers, and we now have an underpass unpassable through the town, although the ducks might enjoy it, safer for them than crossing the road.
  9. This has only just begun in the last few days, due to him having a bit of a scare when he went dizzy, couldnt feel his hands and nearly passed out, due to not leaving his room, except toileting/bathing since college broke up for the xmas holidays! Been telling him for years hes doing damage to himself and his muscles by not moving enough, After that incident, hes agree to a daily half hour walk, finally believing its a problem to stay in bed for weeks on end! Now hes just moaning his legs hurt, well yep because you're actually using the muscles! Teenage lethargy combined with severe social interaction fears are not a great combination, so im taking every opportunity to get him moving and going into the outside world. Now i need to buy him some wellies to actually be able to walk through the flood waters of course, thats another fight to get him to wear something hes never worn before, the joys of ASD.
  10. Same, im trying hard to get my son with autism out on a daily walk, or he just stays vegetating in his room with little to no movement. But today, the areas we normally go around fields and near a river, are once again under water, and having to go near people isnt his thing, avoids people at all costs, especially now as he fears catching germs if anyone comes near him, This winter has been awful for the amounts of rain we've had, maybe once or twice a year the river floods the pathsways, but been at least 6 times since december where the paths have water higher than wellies, and make the whole area impassable.
  11. Lunchtime walk a bust, flooded everywhere again. Only just dried out, now at least the 6th time since beginning of December, getting really bored of it now!
  12. Flipping heck, just checked the beeb weather page, heavy snow symbols for all day saturday?? Really??
  13. Heavy rain nearly now cleared away off the east coast. Should have stayed in bed another hour instead of walking the dogs early, could have gone out after it had passed us!
  14. Actually happy we didnt get any snow this time around, its taken a long time to dry out from all the rain lately, some fields still under water and didnt want any snow to wet all the surfaces that had dried, which then result in horrid icy conditions. Very frosty the last few days, which in some patches has stayed around all day and really just want to get to some warmth and spring this year, maybe its my age or all this doing nothing, but can really feel the cold in the bones and some warmth would be a welcome relief.
  15. 2nd morning in a row I’ve not needed my coat on a walk, although it’s a tad breezy, no rain yet and it fizzles out before it reaches here. The winds tonight could be of concern and tomorrow morning looking like they’ll still be blowing hard. Saturday the beeb giving out snow symbols from late afternoon into the night!
  16. Was so mild this morning, that half way through the dog walk I had to take my coat off! Hopefully less rain than forecast over the next few days, we really need a good few weeks without any to get the river levels down here, but even with less rain than expected I fear another load of flooding over here, as levels have only just gone down enough, still high, so any amount will cause more problems. For now its quite breezy, but sun trying to make it out for a while.
  17. Snow pretty much all melted by this morning, which is actually a blessing, as the few remaining lumps are like ice and didnt need to be slipping whilst out walking the pooches across areas that are still flooded after all the rain. If we've got more rain coming, its going to get really bad over here again, fields are still like lakes from all the rain we've had.
  18. Only 2c here and heavy cloud cover now, kinda hoping the temps rise overnight or its gonna be lethal icy roads and pavements by the morning.
  19. snow now finished and no rain to follow so will probably stick around to become a lovely slushy sloppy mess, but was nice to actually get some for a change
  20. Still heavy snow here, looks to be about another half hour before it passes through, hopefully doesnt turn to rain, but it is very slushy underfoot.
  21. Still coming down here, my gnomes and their woodland friends are freezing their tushys off
