Fair enough I guess we’re closer to sea level here on the coast, hard to see 10 miles away -

I have to agree, we live what 25 miles from Yarmouth and nowt to see here, I can’t imagine unless you live on a very tall hill and have great binoculars you can see over here from Bedford, it’s a blimey long way away. We got a few light clouds but nothing to note since early morning which didn’t lead to anything. -

10 miles away from me, didn’t hear a thing we had two minutes of rain, sun came back out, big clouds building again. -

The clouds burned away but looking at the radar some showers breaking out to the north of the region now. Nice 22c and a gentle breeze, perfect, any hotter and I don’t like it, could stay like this all summer and I’d be happy. -

Some big clouds amassing here, sunlight has dropped and feels rather muggy, wonder if a storm maybe coming later, certainly feels like something is building. -

Finally the nagging easterly wind has gone, which has been keeping temps down near the east coast, might get some warm days, until the big freeze next week -
Spooky! Whilst it would be nice if it did just disappear, kinda don’t want it coming back in a few years.

My eldest son, was sent home from work today (zero hours contract) as his flat mate who works at same company, but has been away all weekend, has symptoms and the company did last week have a confirmed case (Wolverhampton btw) and told to self isolate for 14 days. He was told to download the SSP form from the govt website and they would ensure he was paid. He’s been trying for hours to download it, but the website appears to have crashed!! Must be many people trying to get some pay.

Many schools 'will not be able to open past Friday' WWW.BBC.CO.UK Many schools will not be able to stay open past the end of the week, says a head teachers' leader.

@Dami you as her parent have the right to do whatever you believe is best for your child’s health and well-being. Personally I have removed my son (15yr old special ed needs) from school as of yesterday. I emailed the school with my reasons and that I would return him to school when I believed it was safe to do so. He will be doing GCSE revision online and they are welcome to send work home or via their online hub and I would ensure it was completed. Today, apparently several teachers are off and children who had symptoms were sent home. I feel I’ve taken the right decision for his and my health. They cannot force you to take your child in, so long as they doing work at home, you have every right to remove her temporarily. Your health and your mental health are more important than missing a few weeks (or however long this takes) of schooling. as others have said, they will eventually have to close the schools or the schools will have to themselves as they cannot effectively teach with many teachers off work self isolating, as it becomes a safe guarding issue.

Can confirm it started raining here (16 miles south of Lowestoft) at 12ish, non stop often very heavy and the country roads flooding as well as the parts of the main A12, looking at radar it’s just endlessly coming in off the North Sea ESE direction and many more hours to come. Fields have been waterlogged since November, with nowhere to go the roads flood quickly. Why o why couldn’t we get this coming in when it’s colder!! -

Bit blowy out for a quick dog walk this morning, but currently not that bad, assuming it maybe worse for the afternoon stroll. Not raining here yet, which was a bonus. -

So when is this dry spell supposed to get here? Heavy showers Friday afternoon, yesterday afternoon and now this morning too. The triangle of doom is definitely gloomy n wet, until the snow arrives, when it will miraculously clear up and not a flake will be seen! Really not liking weather right now, so fed up of the flooded roads, fields and constant cloudy skies. Moan over happy December all x -

After the first rain band passed, winds have picked up, but not particularly strong, no need for a warning for our area. Seems the strong winds are staying more southerly than predicted. Suns out now, so hopefully drying up before the next rain arrives later this afternoon. -

Not enough of a breeze to move the fallen leaves around here yet, assume the wind if after the rain? Skies darkening now so rain must be close.
